XDS in CA..

I like them both.
The fit, finish, and accuracy of the XDS is amazing and better than the Shield, IMHO. The stock sights are fantastic.
The low bore, grip and natural hold makes the Shield easy to draw, point, and shoot. However, the stock sights suck.
The trigger, in stock form, is better on the XDS. Much more positive reset and short take-up at the expense of being a tad bit heavier.
However, I have the Apex Tactical DCAEK and Shield Trigger and it is smooth... it's an amazing upgrade that the Shield should have came with from the factory.
So, which do I carry? All of them.

I have an XDs 45, and enjoy it. Very accurate, with minimal recoil. All the factory ammo I have shot has had no problems. I tried a few of my reload, which it did not like at all. I think the OAL might have been a little to long for its liking. The same reload ran great through my XD45 Tactical."Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" [Matt 28:19]

That's my universal length and it has worked for me for over 35000+ rounds of shooting USPSA.
