    Need a CZ education

I've never owned a CZ and I'm looking into getting one. I'm thinking about getting a 75b 9mm and I was wondering what variation you CZ folks recommend. I was thinking of the SAO or possibly even a SP-01. Any thoughts?

    1)aquire cz
2)have cgw or cz customs perform trigger job/convert to SAO
    3)profit

Depends on your use of the pistol. The 75B is a great starter CZ that can be modified down the road if you wish to upgrade parts. The 75B/BD is more available.

The SP-01 is my personal favorite. It has a bit of everything and is a great pistol for HD and competition. The Custom shop models are extremely hard to come by and are usually very expensive. You can easily spend $900-$1100 on a SP-01 Shadow/Shadow Target.

If you can find someone locally to you to shoot a few that would be best. The 75B feels different than a SP-01 due to its weight and upswept beaver tail.

Personally, if you can find yourself a SP-01... don't pass up on it. You won't ever regret having a SP-01..

I'm not a huge gun modding guy. In fact, I haven't modded any of my guns except my AR's. I have a G17 that I'm going to mod but maybe I'll get a CZ and modify it.

Depends on purpose. If it's just target shooting then SAO. If you plan or want the option to attach accessories, then SP01. If you plan on sending it to CGN, doesn't matter which one you get as they will make any CZ extraordinary.

It would just be for target shooting, not planning on competition or CCW use. Maybe in the house for defense but I'm pretty happy with my sig p220 home defense.

SP-01 or SP-01 Shadow (Shadows have no firing pin block which results in a smoother trigger) if you can find one. The light rail on the dust cover of the SP-01 puts more weight up front which helps in getting back on target and lowers muzzle flip. Another benefit of a Shadow is just by installing a CGW disconnector you can shorten the reset and trigger travel in conjunction with an 85C trigger you can adjust the over travel with without the need to install the SRS kit. On the non-Shadow it will only work if you install the SRS kit or if you convert it to SAO, remove the firing pin block, and replace the fp lifter with a spacer. On a Shadow you also have the benefit of having comp hammer included in the gun with the safety that has been fitted. The reg 75B or SP-01 when installing the comp hammer will require fitting of the safety or installing a CGW adjustable billet sear.

If you decide on a 75B the SAO, stainless models, and Omega are the ones with the unswept beavertail.

I have a SP-01 because prefer it's beaver tail and wanted/ needed the rail.
If you want a SP-01 you might be better off buying it out of state and SSEing it.
I gave up on buying a local one after not seeing one in stock in over a year of looking.
When I finally heard of units in stock the vendor was charging $250 over retail... I was able to SSE one for way cheaper than that.

The standard 75B is a great shooter too.
Most ranges have at least it and maybe the SP-01.
I suggest renting them both and seeing what you like.
For me I liked the SP-01 enough to wait for over a year to get it.

As mentioned before in this thread, they shoot well stock, respond very well to mild modifications and you can even go nuts with them.

Another thing to note is since these guns are not polymer light weights, they shoot 40 a little softer than some of the other units out there IMO.

SP-01 Shadow, any of them. Think I have them all. The Adam Tyc and the Accu Shadow are my favorites. Hard to find and pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

Also can't go wrong with a Tactical Sports. Incredible gun right out of the box and actually a good value for the buck, again imo, out shoots just about anything for me.. The 10 round sku in 9 and .40 are on roster but difficult to find. Best off with SSE.
The 9mm are still fairly scarce but the .40 is readily available.

The 75b is an awesome pistol. Solid platform for defence and range fun. If you can afford a SP01 they are worth their weight in gold. Had the pleasure of shooting uhlan1's sp01 and it was the smoothest most accurate 9mm I've ever shot. It was poetry. Waiting to move out of state before I buy another CZ. To hard to get them here.

                        You can't go wrong with a CZ75B.

Anyways, it depends what you want in a CZ. Theres all sorts of them out there.

I have the SP01 Tactical but I originally wanted the 75B. The SP01s are nice because they have a full rail on the frame and a rail unlike the 75b. I barely ever shoot my CZ in DA and I treat it as if it's like a 1911.

Some things I had to get used to was the gritty trigger that smoothes out over time the more rounds you shoot thru the gun and racking the thin slide. Other than those 2, it is my most favorite handgun that I own and the gun I recommend everyone to shoot when I'm out shooting.

Love my CZ75BD POLICE. Only thing that bugs me is the trigger reset. But it is a really nice firearm. Very ergonomic. Excellent feel and balance.

Make sure you are okay with the sights, the basic models are okay but look like painted dots.

See if you are interested in a full beavertail, basic models have straight tails

Sp-01 and SAO models are worth their retail price if you want those things.

Trigger jobs are not cheap so shoot the gun to see if you like it. I think DA in half cocked is not bad at all. Decocking to half cock is pretty simple even if you dont have a decocker.
