Where do you source your 10mm ammo?

I am looking at the possibility of picking up either a G20 or G29 later today and spent the last hour searching for 10mm ammo in stock and it seems like it is all sold out, didn't realize that many people were into shooting it.

Where do you source your 10mm ammo? I don't need 1K rounds of it, but maybe 250 to get me through a few range trips before I buy a 40S&W conversion barrel and start plinking with my reloads.

Any help would be appreciated.

PBR or Underwood Ammo, but the recent price increase has me cringing.

SGAmmo for PPU, but none in stock.
Widener's has PPU, but I'm not sure what they charge for shipping.

for the past year and a half of so there has been a shortage of most all ammo . Ammo is starting to be available.

The first three places I looked have it in stock. Not sure where you're looking?
Cabela's, Natchez, and PSA all have it.

As do LAX, Midsouth, Gander, and Sportsmans Guide.

If you want full power, stick with Buffalo Bore, Underwood, or learn to load it yourself. Otherwise, they're all downloaded to 40S&W specs.

Underwood if I want true 10mm that's taking advantage of the full 10mm power capabilities.

If I want "standard" 10mm, which is actually loaded to the same velocity/power level as most .40 S&W, I just run .40 S&W through my G20 and save money. NO conversion barrel. Just run it.

If you're going to load your own then I'm all for shooting factory 10mm to build up a collection of empty 10mm brass. But, really, despite the warnings from people who don't actually understand what they're talking about, running .40 S&W through a 100% factory unmodified GLOCK brand GLOCK 20 or 29 is completely safe AND reliable. If it isn't about cost savings and the money for an aftermarket conversion barrel isn't a big deal, then go for it. You'll get better accuracy from a nice aftermarket barrel than you will from the factory one, whether we're talking 10mm or .40 or running .40 through a 10mm barrel.


...and yeah, there's plenty of 10mm in stock to choose from: http://www.gunbot.net/ammo/pistol/10mm/... But again, most of it is .40 S&W spec aka "FBI Spec" 10mm or pretty dang close to it.

I make my own, although now is a bad time to start if you don't already have components.

Jeremy is right, 40 works fine for plinking, not a problem with the stock 20/29, although I don't agree about improved accuracy with aftermarket barrels, I have never seen an improvement, just less reliability, YMMV.

Op: Congrats on your upcoming purchase. I just picked up my G29 a month ago. I've found a couple of shooting ranges in my area that sell houseloads @ 180 grains.

Otherwise, I concur with the suggestions already given.

There is none. Anywhere. Basically you just buy expensive stuff and shoot it a lot less than other guns

Oh yeah, at least with the glocks, I just shoot .40sw. Not as much thunder and devastation, but still shoots.

In my opinion if you're into 10MM you should reload. This latest frenzy has put components out of stock and expensive. I was lucky to rathole 2000 new Starlinebrass.com 10MM cases. Also I have factory boutique ammo like Winchester Silvertip, Buffalo Bore and my favorite, Underwood.

Sadly the manufactures are also experiencing higher prices and I've noticed that Underwood has increased in price as well.

I also run .40 reloads and Winchester white box from Wally World thru my stock G20s and G29s. And with a barrel change, .357 SIG and 9X25 that I don't reload.

Back a few years ago before I started reloading 10, I had a hard time finding normal factory stuff here in Southern California. When I traveled to free states and visited various gun or hunting stores I found 10 all over the place. Many times I would buy 10 boxes and ship it ground to myself..

Reloading will set you free.

Turner's has a funny way of coming up with Arsmcor 10mm ammo every so often, worth calling ahead if they have any.
