I like the fact that you shot (and posted) realistic/intended distance for the pistol...

As for audible reset... in actual shooting situations (range, outdoors, real-life bad guy), you're not going to hear any reset click... in a real world scenario when using this pistol, not even felt reset is going to matter (imo, anyone suggesting otherwise is suspect)...

if it feels good and shoots good (which you clearly got/stopped the bad guy in your 7 yard shoot) - you are GTG!

Thanks and you are absolutely right about the P938. I put 50 rounds through a rental tonight and it felt great. I shoot a P226 on a regular basis and the P938 felt very natural in my hand. I would not hesitate to buy one.

Congrats. Got mine a few weeks ago. Trigger is a bit gritty but after every range session it gets better.

But that's basically what you want to see in terms of a "group", even at short range, from a small pistol like that: all shots going generally into the same area (i.e., consistency). Those little guns aren't designed to drill the center out of the 10 ring at 25 yards. If you can put most of your rounds into a large, ragged hole at 7 yards, even if it's off center, you're doing good. Ultimately the sights are adjustable so it's not really a big deal if you're shooting a bit left or right...

How was the recoil of the P938 compared to the Shield? I have a Shield (which I absolutely love) and I am considering getting a P928. It seems like the recoil on the P938 would be more noticeable than the Shield because it's smaller and lighter.

I too just moved from Cali to texas, so let the good times roll ! Recently saw a video on the shield pulling a little left and the guy says he was instructed to place his finger as high as possible on the trigger and that greatly helped.... Debating between shield and xds 9mm at the moment gonna test them both next week, as the P938 just was not for me... It was extremely accurate, but bit my thumb once with external safety..I'm sure I could over come this with a new grip but I'm so used to my hand placement with my xd9. If my hands were not as big as they are I would be all over the sig ! Peace to all my Cali compadres !

Also on the pulling left issue, always helps to confirm which eye is your dominant one.... If ya don't know google it !

You know...they were about the same. I think when you are shooting 9mm, the differences is so negligible that it really doesn't make too much of a difference.

Now the .45 XDs I shot the same day...that gun has some kick. It was very unpleasant to shoot.

If I where you, I'd base my decision on how well you shoot the gun and not worry to much about the small differences in recoil.

Thanks for the tip. I am pretty sure I can bring them back into the center by working on the fundamentals and getting some range time. I was thinking about it on the way home and I think the problem was not quite enough pressure with my support hand. I'll test my theory next time I'm at the range.

I was also not a fan of the safety on the P938. The Shield has one as well but it is pretty easy to disengage.

Thanks for the tip mascoj. I am right handed and right eye dominant and pretty sure I just need range time and practice. I think my grip is actually the culprit. With my pinky hanging off the grip, I think I am putting too much pressure on the right side of the gun because it doesn't feel natural for me to only have two fingers on the gun and I think I was gripping with my right hand it too hard and throwing off the balanced.

Congrats! My Shield has a pretty good reset. Not Glock good but much better than my M&P 45. Dry fire the crap out of it. The thinner grip puts your finger in a different position and that is what is probably what is nudging the gun left as you pull through the break.
