    Just bought a Shield 9mm

Well...now that I am in Texas, I am going to get a CHL and start carrying. I take the class and test tomorrow...

I went to an indoor range this evening and rented a bunch of guns. I rented a Sig P938, P238, G26, and a XDs .45. They didn't have any Shields to rent.

Of all the guns I shot, I liked the p938 the most. I wish I had a change to shoot a shield but they just didn't have one.

So I asked to see a Shield that they had for sale. I held it...loved it...and bought it hoping that I would like it the most. Well...I did. I put 50 rounds down range right after I bought it and it ran like a champ and felt the best of all the guns I shot tonight. Can't say enough good things about it. If I had one complaint, I would say that I can't feel the reset very well and is not not very audible. Other than that, it was great. I'm shooting it a little left but I'll work on that. She is resting in my safe waiting for my class tomorrow.

Here is 50 rounds at 7 yards. Like I said, I am shooting left a little bit

How the hell did you buy it today and shoot it today?

Looks like a DBG to me, even if you are shooting a little left..

I handled a Shield over at a LGS recently and have to admit, it's a nice gun. If I didn't already have two Kahrs and Glock 27 in the CCW stable, I'd probably be angling to pick up a Shield.

I just got an email from S&W. They are in the process of releasing the California version.

Ah...Dead bad Guy. I get it. Thanks ;-)

Anyone else feel the same way about the trigger reset? I'm used to my Sig and Glock which has a very noticeable reset point. There is actually a spot on the Shield trigger reset where you could mistaken a bump for a trigger reset and not go far enough.

I like to hold my trigger back after each shot and slowly move the trigger forward to reset. I'll have to change my habits a little bit with this trigger. Not a huge deal...just different.

What was the date of the email, April 1st??? j/k

To the OP, nice shooting and congrats on your Shield. Haven't heard of anyone that owns one, including myself, that has anything bad to say about them.

I like the fact that you shot (and posted) realistic/intended distance for the pistol...

As for audible reset... in actual shooting situations (range, outdoors, real-life bad guy), you're not going to hear any reset click... in a real world scenario when using this pistol, not even felt reset is going to matter (imo, anyone suggesting otherwise is suspect)...

if it feels good and shoots good (which you clearly got/stopped the bad guy in your 7 yard shoot) - you are GTG!

Congrats on a great gun (don't discount the P938 though )

this has been the case for well over a year...

for reference... I waited (this time) last year - when they said July... well, we know that came and went....
