    17HMR Revolver

I looked at the roster and the only 17HMR revolver I found, new for sale in Kali, was the S&W for over $1K. Anyone aware of any other options in the $500ish?

There are some SAO available in that price range.

You could also look at the Taurus. Not on the roster but you can use the SAO exemption to get one.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I wish there was a SAO exemption...think of all the great 1911's/2011's we could get

There is a SAO for revolvers.

You can use the SSE (Single Shot Exemption) to get those guns. The 1911/2011 is the easiest to do.

SSE I know, but what is SOA? Perhaps the obvious is not working in my brain today

You didn't say single or double action, so I will just leave this here: http://www.ruger.com/products/newMod...eets/0661.html

SoCal Bob, in deed I didn't mentioned single or double, at this point it does not matter.

Please educate me, in the SA exempt?

SAO revolvers meeting certain OAL requirements are Roster exempt. ETA: "A single action revolver that holds 5 or more rounds with a barrel of over 3 inches and an overall length of 7.5 inches is roster exempt."

That's how I got my S&W 460XVR 14" barrel. I removed the DA sear before my LGS DROS'd it. I reinstalled it after the 10-day wait (the small black piece in the second pic):

I've got the Taurus in .17HMR...I got it from another CG'r. Neat pistol.

You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
                Come on...what harm??

Yes, because it is a single action revolver.
