Whenever I have to travel to buy a gun, I call ahead for 2 reasons. I make sure they still have it & I either leave a deposit or pay in full over the phone so I can guarantee it's mine when I get there. Give them a call before making the drive.

They may not have one in store, which was my situation when I first walked in, you simply put down a 50% deposit, and in 2-4 business days they will get it and start the DROS, and then after the 10day wait, you pay the other half.
(when I went in 3 weeks ago, he told me " I have over 500 glocks at my fingertips, I just have to hit order" )

Hopefully they will take that 50% deposit over the phone, it would save an extra trip to the store.

I wouldn't say completely avoid it, I am just saying it happened to me and to be aware of it. It wasn't very difficult or costly to put in the new ejector and extractor. It was more of an inconvenience than a major problem. The mag followers should be a simple fix as well and I am still going to have to put a lot more rounds in the gun before I consider it reliable.

Orange County Firearms usually has gen3s at a very good price, $499 +tax and fees, if you looking to save some bucks over a gen4.

Well Thank you everyone for the reassuring news. I just put in a order for the Glock 19 gen 4 at Orange County Firearms.

Great store, they also bake cherakote for $70 bucks, lowers or slides. Showed me his work and it was top notch. If I lived closer it would definitely be my go to store.
