    Apex Tactical M&P9 Trigger??

Does anyone have this installed in their M&P??

Just wondering if it is worth the money for getting rid of the "gritty" trigger and moving more toward a 1911 feeling trigger.

Most of the grit in the trigger pull is from the striker block as it has sharp edges vs. a smooth beveled edge. If you want to just get rid of the grit, the best bet would be to purchase the APEX USB (ultimate striker block) Kit.

If you want more of a 1911 style trigger, I highly recommend getting the APEX FSS kit as it reduces the travel and reset of the trigger. I personally have one in mine and I absolutely love the setup.

I believe this kit also comes with two trigger springs, one for competition spec, setting it to about 3-3.5lbs, and a duty spring which brings it to 4-4.5lbs.

Here is the kit with the duty spring installed.

I am looking for overall better trigger feel, (less grit, shorter overtravel etc...).

Just spring for either the DCAEK or the FSS kit. The DCAEK has a longer travel and reset for more tolerance to stuff getting in the trigger and it still function, where as the FSS really decreases the trigger pull and reset to almost nothing. Negative of the FSS is that the reset is so small, that if you get some small rocks in there, it may not fully reset.

Both the kits come with the USB so you'll be good to go. I recently got my friend to also purchase the M&P9 and I got to shoot the gun stock and it surely is a large improvement. He also installed all the parts to the kit before actually putting in the USB and the grit was still there. After replacing that part, it became smooth as butter.

The only difference that I see between the FSS and trigger that you linked and the one I did is that yours is a poly trigger where as the other is machined aluminum. Did you install yours? Was it worth the money?

It was completely worth the money. I don't think I would like the gun as much without the kit. In my opinion, every M&P should have the kit.

My buddy I mentioned before got the DCAEK and he has the aluminum trigger, but it does have a bit more travel and reset distance.

Personally after handling both triggers, I like the polymer trigger more.

I also did all the installation to the kit on both my friend and my own firearms. The YouTube videos make installing rather easy.

Also, here is the link to the FSS with the aluminum trigger if that is what you want.

Cool thanks for the advice, I know that the poly trigger is less $$ than the metal one.

I have the duty/carry kit and polymer AEK trigger in my M&P. The take up is VERY smooth and the brake is incredibly crisp. I would highly recommend APEX to anyone looking to clean up their M&P trigger.

I've had mine installed for about 4 months and 800 rounds (including a 1-day Alpha Dog Tactical pistol class).

If you want the short takeup and reset similar to a 1911, the FSS is the way to go.

I use mine in IDPA and the rolling letoff lets me shoot a bit faster with it than a 1911 with a crisper letoff.

A buddy and I installed it on a bench at the range one afternoon and the difference was very impressive. Prior to the install, I was having a hard time holding inside 2" at 7 yards; I figured I just got one of the bad barrels. After the install, it was dropping rounds on top of each other for a 5 shot group that could be covered with a dime.

I installed the poly trigger kit and it is amazing! An entirely better gun now- smoother, lighter trigger and shorter travel.

The full length dust cover rail makes a world of difference in the "when I run out of bullets I'm going to beat you to death with the pistol" look that causes bad guys to run in fear, and lesser men to feel inadequate. It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

Apex fo sho. Installed two, with two more on the way for a VTAC and mp9 this weekend. Completely doable by yourself with the right tools. YouTube is your friend.

I got the DCAEK in mine. I'm not usually crazy on needing trigger upgrades but I couldn't stand the stock trigger anymore. Us Californians got screwed by not getting all the newest updates from S&W, otherwise the Apex USB alone woulda been just fine.

I am a higher end 1911 snob - I admit it, several calibers and love the triggers..disclaimer done.

I like the way my M&P hold too.. Hated, hated the trigger.. Tossed in the complete Apex trigger.... Now I love my M&P... Not so much my Glocks

All I needed was the Apex USB & poly trigger, nothing wrong with a poly trigger glock & xd come with them

Another vote for the complete poly trigger kit. It's a fantastic kit although I probably wouldn't use the poly trigger on a carry gun because of the shortened take up.
