I carried Berreta on duty for a while, love to shoot them and still carry one of them sometime.

Great gun. I would NOT get one in .40. Stick with Beretta 92 in 9mm.

    Why not a 96?

I own and carry a 96D Centurion. I am interested in your opinions of this model, pro and con.

Every time I shoot the thing it's far left. No limp wrist, no poorly maintained gun, and it happens with all 4 mags I have. I can put the M9 down, pick up my Sig, M&P's, XD, S&W and shoot just fine. Pick up the M9 and far left again. I just compensate and place the sights on the ring between 8-9 and shoot fine.

I love the gun, it's awesome and so smooth, but just can't get it on paper with out compensating.
Poor technique and improper gripping. If it is far left and your right handed, switch to left hand and I bet it will be far right.

When I shoot a Colt SAA right handed, my hits are at 10 o'clock. Left handed it is 2 o'clock. So I only shoot my SAA for fun. I would not recommend you use a M9 for SD. You got others.

Its the same gun, just a different caliber.
        I used M9/92 A LOT .

I saw people have some issues with 96, but not with 92's. I am mostly talking about durability issues , NOT reliability issues.

I would have no problem packing a 96. But if I had a choice I would take a nine.

40 cal is nice and a very good round. 9 mill just offers alot of versatility loads are easier to come across and cheaper. I say get both though
You only get one chance. So take a breath, line up your sights, and gently squeeze... Good luck.

It actually uses a bruniton finish. Not black or the standard blued finish we know. No real diffrence thpugh. Its supposed to be resistant to moisture so its a plus.
