Great gun! As long as its not your primary HD or range gun (just do to ammo cost) its great. I use mine as a woods gun. Make sure and get REAL 10mm from double tap or Underwood. Its an absolute beast! 16rds of 155gr Underwood at 730 foot pounds of energy! 11,600 ft of energy on your hip! Plus 220gr hard cast would be a great bear defense round! 10mm has a hard core cult following! When you run into another "10 guy" its always a fun conversation! The 20 comes with a manual with the secret hand shake to the 10 club! Lol

Thank you everyone for the helpful info. If a local shop had a gen4 g20 it would of made my decision easier. I would hate to order it then to find out its not comfortable in my hand like the gen3 g20. The gen3 g20sf felt great.

Reloading is something that is on my list to start doing in the future, meanwhile I'm doing some homework on reloading and going to start picking up my brass.

You know, way back I bought a KKM 40 Conversion barrel for my G20SF. I used it for a while, then one day ended up testing it against my stock G20 barrel using 40S&W.

I found no difference in reliability or accuracy. My KKM conversion barrel never makes it into the range bag nowadays.

I guess I should sell it before making too many more of these kinds of posts...

So you can shoot 40s&w from a g20 without making any barrel changes?

            No problems.

This doesn't apply to other designs like my Kimber 10mm, only Glock.

I bought my G20SF from a friend who wasn't happy with it. The non-SF frames feel like a 2X4 in my hand to me, but the SF frame is a good fit. Except for the ammo price issue, I'm perfectly happy with it. Unlike other folks here, I won't run the risk (small. large or whatever) shooting .40 in a 10MM barrel, having seen at least one bad example of what can happen. I couldn't see any difference between the two barrels in terms of accuracy either, but the replacement barrel will also let me load exposed lead rounds without the Glock polygonal rifling/leading issues, making for cheaper reloading.

LAKings, if you get the 20SF and don't like 10MM, you can always convert it to .45ACP.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

I bought 500 rounds of it basically for the brass after I found that it shoots around .40sw territory. Course I only found that out after I ordered it lol

                    You likely won't regret it.

Might put this in your ammo favorites folder: http://www.underwoodammo.com/10mmauto.aspx

Also, consider getting one of these when you start shooting the Underwood or Buffalo Bore ammo: http://www.glockmeister.com/Glockmei...nfo/GMSSR20CS/

I found the 22lb spring will work great from hottest 10mm loads (keeps the slide from slamming the receiver) to plinking 40S&W loads (still will cycle).

                    Good luck, have fun.

Many heated threads about 40 out of a G20 barrel, recommend searching if you are interested in that topic.

i may not answer your question but here is my personal experience.

                        i as well want a 10mm , "just because"
i as well am a smaller dude, 5'6" and a buck fitty

my first glock was a 36, i didnt care for it and sold it
my second glock was a 21SF and i love it, but honestly i shoot my 1911's more. the 21 fits great , shoots great, i put night sights on it, and it became my nightstand gun. i will NEVER get rid of it
my 3rd glock is a 19, and i violate that thing every chance i get, i touch it, molest it, shoot it, beat it up...you name it. possibly my favorite gun ever

sooooo....... should you get a 20SF ? i say if you REALLY want a 10mm, do it, you wont regret it, and thats the gun your gonna want

will you shoot it much ? i kinda doubt you will, might be more of a novelty than anyhting else

the plus side tho....its a glock. if you dont shoot it much you can always sell it down the road for $20 less than you paid for it, or leave it your kids who will love you for it.

Thanks for the link .... I'll have to put in a order for couple of boxes to plink away with and couple of the hot loads for those camping trips.

If the spring will works better with the hot loads and also works fine with the regular stuff, I'll have to order it.

I know how you feel when it comes to the 1911. I wanted to get a Delta Elite in 10mm but i knew it would end up being a safe queen. With a Glock I wouldn't feel bad if it gets scratched or dinged up. Although if I ever find a Delta Elite for a good price i will be all over it.

I tell people who shoot .45 already to get a 21 since it's super easy to swap in a 10mm barrel
