    Glock 20SF

I've been wanting to add a 10mm to the collection. I handled a glock 20 at Turners few weeks ago and it was a little too big for my hand. Then today I came across a glock 20SF and it felt perfect.

I didn't want to make another "impluse" buy, so I walked out too really think about it and figure out if It will be a good buy or not. Maybe you guys can help me out here.

My current handgun calibers are 9mm .40 and 45. If I purchase the G20, it's not going to be my nightstand or HD gun. The only time i see it coming out the safe is when camping in the national forest or once in a while to the range (ammo is to expensive).

For camping trips, I take my 1911 .45 and 12g. So what you guys think? Would you buy it? Or spend it on something you will use more.

I'd always wanted a 10mm pistol but never bought one since ammo was pricey. I took up reloading in 2012 and now I own a Glock 20 I can afford to shoot.

10mm is for lack of a.better term, a blast to shoot. It's my favorite caliber now.

Not much help towards your decision but that's my 10mm story. Buy it....you only live once.

There are two or three for sale in the marketplace currently when I browsed a few pages yesterday.

Learn to reload and buy the glock 20. You will regret neither.

I too felt the 20 was a bit big for my hands. My 20SF feels almost exactly like my 34., very comfortable. While not the gun I shoot at the ranger the most, I really like my SF. A bit expensive to shoot, but overall I am very pleased that I own one.

The G20 rocks! The SF feels good in the hand. Looking for a Gen4 but they are hard to find at the moment.

I can't add much because I don't own one but I have been looking into one for a little while now. I really want a 10mm and I reload so I might get one but I can't decide between the 20sf or 29sf. Check GoG for a good price.

Check the link on my post. GoG ships them directly to your ffl and they have a pre arranged price so you don't pay a high transfer fee. Put in your zip code and you will see prices otd at your local ffl.

Let me start by saying I reload, that makes a difference when shooting 10mm in any volume. Underwood has mitigated this previous statement some as you can get full power ammo at more reasonable prices, but reloading makes full power 10mm the same as reloaded 40 price wise.

I love my G20SF's and G29SF's. They are my everything SD guns, field toys, range guns, etc.

I prefer the Gen 4 G20 over the G20SF for a couple of reasons, it feels a little better in my hand and the newer design recoil spring means I can shoot full power 10mm, without changing to a higher spring rate. In my G20SF, I run a 22lb recoil spring on a captive SS guide rod. This keeps the slide from battering the frame, but at the expense of higher felt recoil. The Gen 4 (and the G29SF) RSA keeps the slide off the frame under full power loads, but still delivers stock recoil spring felt recoil. Gen 4 guns have been hard to come by so I stick with my Gen 3 SF's which are still my favorite Glocks. You can't go wrong in either case.

                        Have fun, good luck.

OP - I was just like you and picked up a G20SF a few months back.
I will say that the PPU brand 10mm ammo is pathetically weak.
I haven't collected enough brass to start reloading yet.
I do plan on getting a G21 slide for mine at some point, I just haven't made up my mind between stock or a Lone Wolf.

                          Just do it!

Try and get a Gen 4 via SSE. OC Armory down here in Orange County can do it.

Have the out if state FFL ship the weapon directly to OC Armory ( free shipping usually) and call Mike ahead of time. I've used Glockmeister in Arizona many times and they already have OC Armory in their system. This is really painless and the cost isn't much more.

The Gen 4 Glock 20 has much better everything.

Have Glockmeister swap out the mags for 10 rounders. You get 3 mags with a Gen 4 which is another added bonus.

                            Think about reloading as well.

Love my gen 4 g20. Only negative for me is I can't shoot it in the local indoor range unless I want to lose my precious 10mm brass. Throw a lone wolf .40 conversion barrel in it.
