Just a heads up, there is a several week wait at MTG, but Bob & Co are great to work with and the price is right. If you are willing to wait for your turn on the list to come up, highly recommend stopping in and doing business with them.

I've never seen a CA-approved Shield, although Bud's has had the MA-approved Shield for some time: LINK. I'm sure they have to jump through some of the same BS hoops as we do.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I did find a Shield in .40 , in roseville. But, the store manager wanted paperwork that I have never needed before, such as a department letter BEFORE I started deros. Up until that point, I only utilized a letter from my department if I wanted to waive the 10 days............ so I went down the street to buy a Glock 42. He may be correct, but "aint nobody got time for that" btw the store had a great price...... 369.00 cash.... so if anyone has their department letter in hand, it was the store off of melody lane in rsvl.

I recommend removing the saftey and grinding the corner off of it. This way the saftey is on the gun, but doesn't work.

A safety device that has been disabled but has not been labeled as so is a disaster waiting to happen.

Most accidents happen because if incorrect assumptions. Your safety is going to create incorrect assumptions.

If you do anything figure out a way to jam the safety in the fire position. At least then people wont think it does anything.

edit [I'm not trying to come down hard on you, I just don't want somebody handling your gun to ND. I have about a decade working with high performance machines, not making traps is something I focus on]
