River City Gun Exchange had a few on special pricing during the holidays- might be worth a call.

American Firearms in Clovis has them at $475 + $75 SSE + tax + DROSS (About $625 out the door). I have not bought from them yet, but they seem pretty knowledgeable, very SSE friendly, and responsive on their Facebook page.

I know what you mean, but to be fair the Shield's safety is very unobtrusive. I have carried mine daily for about 8 months now and it has never activated itself. It is also pretty trivial to completely neuter it.

I recommend removing the saftey and grinding the corner off of it. This way the saftey is on the gun, but doesn't work.

I'll try that. I left a message but haven't received a call back.

Sounds about right. Mine was just north of $560.00 OTD at their Visalia store.

Just ordered one from Audiophil here on the forums. Had it shipped to Tracy Rifle & Pistol for the SSE, since they have the barrel available to do the transfer.

MTG in Elk Grove had them. Price was $479 last time I checked. No SSE fee. Good shop but afraid to go in there because I may buy something. Haha

                          Damn. That's a good price.

Paid $419 at Turners. Now if S&W would just make the damm things I could pick it up.

Just a heads up, there is a several week wait at MTG, but Bob & Co are great to work with and the price is right. If you are willing to wait for your turn on the list to come up, highly recommend stopping in and doing business with them.
