Can you elaberate on this. Was it on a G26 or 27 with a tention fit plug. The type that wedges its self in the cavity? I hear that the colored frames other than black are prone to cracking..

Have no idea how a grip plug could crack a frame. Unless you try to stuff a G21 plug into a G19. They aren't that tight. Also have no idea why anyone would want to defeat a functional part of the frames design to accomplish what exactly? The gap is there for a reason.

Since you expressed an interest in IDPA, make yourself aware of the rules regarding upgrades / customization.
E.g., stippling the grip bumps you out of SSP and into ESP class. Also, certain backstrap plugs are legal, not all.

Some competition shooters feel the plug assists with faster, more reliable magazine changes.
Nikki, i have alot to learn and research when it comes to IDPA. Thanks for the heads up. The stippling situation really surprised me. It doesn't make sense to me, but i guess whoever makes the rules has their reasons. I'm a little bummed now, lol.

No need to be bummed... most local IPDA matches will overlook the stippling and will welcome you with open arms....
But if you qualify for the Nationals, they'll probably not be as accommodating.

Skateboard tape's perfectly legal for ssp, but not stippling.

Great, I'm glad to hear that local matches might overlook it . Yes, I don't see the logic in having skateboard tape being legal and not stippling, lol. That is one beautiful pistol you have there.

                Congratulations, and enjoy the GLOCKaid.

Don't worry about SSP vs. ESP just go out to a club match and have fun. If you end up getting serious about competition, and want to shoot a sanctioned event with your G19, you'll have to shoot and classify in ESP. Both ESP and SSP are really competitive classes, so you'll have fun either way.

If it bothers you that much you can always go out and get a G34/35 like the real gamers do.

Awesome. If I ever reach that level of competition I will definitely be upgrading to a 34 like the "real gamers"
