New Springfield XD M Factor....

He said boycott Springfield for sending American money to Croatia, implying that Springfield was having them made in Croatia instead of the USA.
The guns were originally made and designed in Croatia by another company as the HS2000. Springfield bought them out and started calling them the XD (oh and jacked the price by $200). Before Springfield bought the HS2000, the HS2000 was being sold for $250 (in the free states) and only had mild interested. Once Springfield bought it and put their name and marketed it, it began to fly of the shelves as the XD.
The moral of my story...for the poster to call for a boycott of Springfield is silly. Springfield did not invent/design the gun and had it shipped to Croatia to be built for cost purposes. The design originally came from Croatia.Comment

The new LCI law requires graphics or lettering that meets a certain requirement. I forget what it is exactly but it is pretty stupid and doesCan you educate me on both those points please. The loaded chamber indicator looks the same as on a regular XD, what's the compliance issue? Also what is the mag disconnect? Sorry if that's a stupid noob question, but aside from the mags I can't figure out the issue with an XDm.
nothing for public safety.
The original XD was certified before this brain-dead law came into force.
The point being that any old LCI won't do - it has to be compliant.
As far as I know, no new guns meet this requirement. I don't think any new guns have been added to the roster since this new law came in except for some "cosmetic" variants.
The mag disconnect means that the gun won't fire if there is no mag in the well.
Ask yourself this: if I handed you a gun with no mag and the LCI indicating no round in the chamber, would you point it at your childs head and pull the trigger?Comment

Damn you and your logic!
Thanks for the explanation, I was wondering what had changed, the XDm really does look like it's nothing more than a restyled XD, but I guess there's enough changes to make it "unsafe", I guess I'll stick with my regular XD9, it's safe, it fires flowers and puppies instead of bullets.
