Personally, not a fan of conversions. My reasoning is that repetitive mechanical items like the slide & frame of a gun, or the piston & cylinder in an engine, tend to wear & mate together over time. This is why you you put oil in your engine as well as on the rails of your semi-auto pistol. It's also why some guns and cars have a break-in period. The moving parts wear a little and mate together. It's why, on some high performance engines, they recommend not revving too high in when its new and to change the oil after about 500 miles. There's actually metal worn off from the piston & cylinder as the parts mate together and its a good idea to drain that stuff out with the oil.

So, then you come along, and put a whole different slide on the frame of your gun. What's going to happen is that the new slide & frame will wear against each other for a while, and after a few hundred or thousand rounds will have a wear pattern different from the original slide & frame. If you change back & forth, then both slides will probably be less than optimal when paired with the frame.

That's why I prefer a dedicated platform for shooting .22. If you like 1911 or Sig P226, you have excellent options available.

      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Invest in reloading, then train with the weapon and ammo you intend to use. If it ever comes to that(hope not).
        Couldn't agree more.
