Hello MadStyle1
I have an S&W 500 and it is fun to shoot. The one I have is ported and has the interchangeable muzzle break. So with the muzzle break, there is a minimal amount of recoil. And with out the muzzle break installed it has a little more kick, but it's still managible. Now comes the cool part. You will be absolutely amazed with the fireballs that it produces. My employees were a good 150 yards away from where I was shooting mine and they could see them during brood daylight. As for the cost of ammo, it will get costly if you plan on shooting it all the time, but I don't see it as a daily shooter. I see it more as a show piece and an occasional shooter. I hope this helps you.
Sincerely,

I rented one a few years back. It's a fun gun but totally impractical.Comment

I like my .454 Casull better, can shoot .45 Colt in it when I 'm not feeling rambunctious, and a heck of a lot cheaper to reload Casull and Colt.sigpic
