    New Glock...Help

I just picked up my first Glock. Not my first handgun, but it is my first Glock. Brought it home, cleaned it, frog lubed it and off to the range I went. Ran 150 rounds through it. Brought it home, striped it to clean and noticed this...
    Is this normal for Glocks?

I've got 5 glocks....never seen that on mine. Was your recoil spring put in correctly?

That ain't right... I have 1200 rounds through mine and it doesn't show anywhere near that kind of wear.

No, it should not look like that.

Also, seems like you have the steel or tungsten guide rod. Not sure if that has anything to do with it... When you initially field stripped it to clean and lube it, did it not look like that? And is this new or used?

Your pics made me field strip my Glocks and one of them that has well over 4,000 rounds still looks almost new inside and out.

Aren't gen 3's supposed to have polymer guide rods? Maybe the metal one you're using is causing it?

I just broke it down again and the location of the marring, is directly under the breach of the barrel, just forward of the feed ramp so it wouldn't have anything to do with the guide rod. I'm going to contact Glock on Monday to see what they say. To be honest, I don't know if it was there the first time I broke it down. It is a brand new gun so I just assumed that everything was solid so I just went on frog lubing it.

Good luck! Please report back with your findings after speaking with Glock. It was probably there as 150 rounds would unlikely cause that.

I've owned a few Glocks and that is not normal at all.

That is the defective part from the MIM process. Show that picture to Glock.

I figured as much. From the looks of it, it looks like its been there all along. All the edges are smooth and there was no debris anywhere. It also has a strange shape to it, almost a V groove, and I don't see anything that would have made that on the gun. I'll contact Glock. Hopefully they will just send me a new locking block so I don't have any down time.

Glock customer service is really good. They may just mail you the part same day.

My rear sight adjustment tool was missing in the box. Glock sent the part same day I called together with a glock pen and mini g17
