    Mp9c light primer strikes

I have a mp9c that is experiencing light primer strikes with multiple brands of steel and brass cased ammo. I've picked up all the rounds with light primer strikes and fired them again in the same gun. If i recall correctly, all the rounds fired the second time. The gun has the following parts from Apex Tactical installed: forward set sear and trigger kit, MP ram and their extractor. The light primer strikes are about 40%. Anyone have any idea what's wrong?
Would Smith and Wesson repair it, or do I need to contact another gunsmith? I tried emailing Apex Tactical with no response multiple times the last 3 months.

Jeez, 40% light strikes is a lot. I have the dcaek (whatever it's called, the duty kit) and I have had one light strike since installation a few years ago. And never a light strike b4. I did hear that apex said their kit may increase the possibility of light strikes but shouldn't be a problem.

Have you removed and cleaned the striker ? Don't lube it just clean it.

Yeah I had no problems before installing apex parts. I heard good things about Apex Tactical and that's why I bought their stuff

Yes, cleaned everything thoroughly. Also adjusted the candy cane piece of the trigger as suggested by the apex video

Sounds like something is obstructing the travel of the striker or the striker spring is broken. I would make sure everything is clean and assembled properly there. Did you tap the rear sight out and install the USB that came with your trigger kit?

Yes, followed all their instructions on their videos. Striker looks OK to me comparing with google pictures.

Well the kit doesn't change the striker spring and the only thing that can obstruct the striker is the block, so that is the first place I would look.

If you depress the block and push the striker forward does it spring back without any issue?

I believe it does. I've played with the striker and how it functions during multiple cleanings of the gun. I'm always out of town at work and can't bring it with me so I can't look at it again til Sat night.

Clean and dry last time I looked. I have a SR9c and I do the same procedure of cleaning it (get all the crud out of the channel, lube it, then dry it with patches).

Thanks. It was working fine (I shot about 300 various rounds) before installing the Apex parts.

When was your gun made? There were breakage problems with the first revision of the striker so S&W updated the striker.

Check out the pictures in the link to ensure you have the correct striker. This is most likely not the cause of your problem but it doesn't hurt to make sure.

I haven't had the chance to call yet. I don't have reception most of the time during business hours. I work away from home and can't take the gun with me so I can't really diagnose on the phone unless I'm home anyways. I'll try that email address. If I can't get it fixed maybe I can mail the gun to you guys to work on it.
                            Thanks,

I have the newer striker. I contacted S&W before their customer service overhaul in August or something and they sent me a striker for free. Too bad they sent me the wrong one (M&P45 instead of M&P9c).
