QUestion Regarding PPT

I have a friend that has a M&P 9 that I'm willing to buy from him ( he isn't actually selling it, I just made an offer) if I can do the transfer legally. The gun was purchased and is registered in Oregon and has 17 rounds magazines. WE are both stationed (active duty) in this wonderful state. I'm not interested in the magazine since I don't want to take any risk at the legality of those. Can we do a PPT without the magazines?

No.

You will need to do a safety demonstration and that requires the magazine.

Buy a 10 rounder before you do the transfer.

Handguns aren't registered in OR.

If your buddy has a CA ID there should be no problem.

If he doesn't he will need his orders to do the transfer.

Just go with the tank to the FFL, park it in front, and the moment you both jump from the turret, you will be exempt from any safety demonstration. Keep in mind, even with the tank present, You still will not be able to have more than 10 round magazine in your handgun.

X31 = Peace Officer - California - Active
X32 = Peace Officer - Federal - Active
X33 = Peace Officer - California - Honorably Retired

X35 = Peace Officer - Federal - Honorably Retired
X41 = Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit Holder
