    EAA SAR Pink Pavona 9mm

Hi all, My wife saw the latest add for this little handgun on CTD and liked it. She's been meaning to get a daily carry (here in WA it's concealed or open, doesn't matter either way) and although she's always had her heart set on a G17, she's starting to change her mind and want a smaller, slimer gun that's more comfy to carry. We have no way of handling one of these ourselves as we live in "middle-o-nowhere" rural WA and there's no FFL within hours that might possibly have one in stock. Normally I'd try to stear her away and towards a smaller version of the G17 but it's been a full year since we moved here and this is the first gun she's actually liked enough (yeah probably cause of the pink/stainless color scheme, the size, and the price tag $335 in that order) to be willing to just buy. Also the few reviews i've read online seem to be positive so

With all that said does anyone have any personal experience with either this particular gun or the company?

Don't have any experience with that gun, but many of the EAA guns are based on the CZ 75 design

That gun is made in Turkey by Sarsilmaz. They had one time licensed the design from Tanfoglio. The Tanfoglio design is a modified copy of the CZ-75.

I have the full size black version of that gun; the SAR B6. It is a great gun and I really don't think you will be unhappy with your purchase.

      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Thanks for the info guys. At least that makes me feel better about it. I just have read some horror stories about folks buying cheap off-brand guns and having nothing but problems with them. I was hoping that this wasn't going to be one of those horror stories, especially since the plan is for it to be my wife's carry gun.

I have a K2 from SAR and it shoots well. The k2 is a little different from this gun in that the K2 slide and barrel locks up like a glock, but the frame is essentially a steel CZ design. SAR isn't some small knockoff brand in Turkey, the brand is made by a firearms manufacturer for the Turkish military. You're buying a gun that's built like the EAA guns from Tanfoglio in Italy. Good and solid, but without the Gucci chic.

I have the B6 compact in black. The gun runs great and the sights are dead on.
A couple of things you should know. The slide even though it is similar to witness and cz slides it is narrower and a little tougher to grab hold of. Also the recoil spring set up is heavier than on the fullsize gun so that makes it a little harder to rack the slide. It gets better with use. On the trigger the takeup single action is shorter than on my stock czs and my witness. This is good. The double action pull is heavy but so is my witness double action. Over all it is a great gun for the money.

How did you get it, if you don't mind me asking? The K2 is on my wish list, but I don't think it's popular enough to be a common SSE. Admittedly I haven't actually done any research though.

I don't know how he did it but if you are in So Cal you should call EBR Works. They have a kit that can do anything.

I live in VA and bought the gun last year. I changed my residency back to CA this year because my wife is still living in our house in the East Bay and don't have any property or compelling ties to VA now, so I can't buy guns in VA anymore. However, before I reverted back to being a CA resident .........
I just hope my wife doesn't notice the bank account until later this summer when I get a bonus.
