Need a pic of the slide too if that chip is on one of those rails (kind of looks like it is). Maybe the recoil spring guide was off center or something, or popped out of its little groove on the locking block.

Sell it and use the money to buy a better gun. Your locking block should be cracked and ready to break soon too. You might want to check it.

i feel like crying lol i didnt open the box that had my 92fs a month after i got it. Warranty card was to be filled out 30 days after purchase :'(. I bought it last March for my birthday

I'm not an attorney, but I'm pretty sure the Song-Beverly lemon law has you covered here. In California you do not lose your warranty rights just because you didn't return the card.

Uh you are misinformed I have a 92FS that I have had for 17 years and Is still flawlessly operational and only has a few nics on the outside

You are going to get some wear where you have a steel slide moving on an aluminum frame. The photos are not very clear and it is hard to tell if it is just normal wear or something else.

Don't worry about your locking blocks for at least another 10000 rounds or more, and it is likely that your pistol came with the new locking blocks that will never give you issues.

Take the gun to a gunsmith who is familiar with Berettas or someone who knows the Beretta well, or just call Beretta and ask them about it. Their customer service has always been easy for me to deal with, but that said, despite owning several M-9 variants for the past 15 years, I have never had to make any warranty or repair claims.

I agree, the Beretta 92fs is a fine firearm. Never had a single issue of any kind after thousands of rounds.

How many rounds, what type of ammo? I've seen slide,frame,and many locking block cracks with Beretta 92 and 96's in high round count weapons. I've even seen a barrel crack. I own a Taurus 92 and used to own a Beretta 92fs and I still own other Berettas so I don't want to hear about how I'm lying or don't like Beretta or other such nonsense.
