I have a CBOB, had it about 4 years now.

Got to shoot it side by side with a KC.

    Differences...

I found the KC sights better, the cobra pattern was very comfortable and the glass bead blast finish is superior, but for the difference in price - get the CBOB.

Wasn't better enough to justify the differential.

Mind you, I bought my CBOB when you could get them for under a grand, so that's my benchmark. These days, it's a smaller difference and with today's pricing it isn't so big a jump to get the KC.

Therefore, if you have two new examples in your hand at an LGS, get the one you like best.

Dan Wessons 1911s are like buying a Wilson combat pistol for the price of a Springfield.
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.

If you can buy a Cbob, buy it, you wont' regret it. I bought a used one a few years back, I love it.

I own the VBob. Paid more than I should have but I have zero regrets about it! Had to SSE it and I absolutely love it. I did hear there was a fire at dan wesson making things hard to get last year. Prices jumped a bit but might be normal now.

+1 for the CBOB. I bought mine used a few years ago, and I absolutely love it. It's my only 1911 at the moment, but when its time for another, it will either be a VBOB, or a Fusion T-comm. I love the clean slides. Here's my '09 CBOB

Pretty nice slide to frame fit, not overly tight and ultra smooth

I like the CBOB's a lot, but I prefer alloy frames for carry 1911's.

Yes....Vbob has more hand fitting done to it. Different rear sights, trigger MSH ,has a satin finish., costs a few hundred more. Also available in either SS or Duty finish ( black coating)
