Ahh, AR pistols... I think everyone has been there before or will be at some point. Just my opinion, its not worth it. The buffer tube sucks and its impractical. Like some other have said, they novelties - range toys at best. SBR is another story. If you need a pistol version of a rifle, build an AK pistol. At least they don't have that tarded pistol stock. To each their own but i wont be doing the AR pistol thing again.

I would not use an A2 stock buffer since you can easily install an A2 stock.
Not if its modified by drilling out the threads on the back of the tube so the screw no longer can tighten down the stock...

BTW its a Rifle buffer tube extension or an A1 buffer tube. To use an A2 stock on a rifle tube you need an A2 extension/spacer and A2 length screw..

        10. The added velocity and slight reduction in noise from the 7.5 is worth the extra length.

I would also recommend 10"+ for 300 blk. from the research I've done it seems to be the sweet spot..

I wanna get some of these and check them out.

why couldn't you screw on a 10" long closed-side flash hider? I know it wouldn't be practical for other reasons, but that sure would fix the flash and noise, yes?

(if you are hung up on the 10" number, pretend I said 20 or 30. A 30" flash hider with closed sides on a pistol sure would turn heads at the range, methinks! )

Goal here is portability above all. I will primarily be shooting super sonic loads with some sub-sonics mixed in for fun. If done right I shouldn't need a flash hider at all. I can design a load that will burn all its powder at 8-9 inches. I will be using a linear comp on this pistol. Its all I'll use actually. They sit on all my AR's and AK's. I may make a custom one if I can get some help from a professional machinist friend. Linear comp with outside threading. There will be suppressors involved at some point

I've currently got a 7.5 AR Pistol and really like it. BUT I'm upgrading it with a 10.5 upper (LMT MRP). And I'll also be ordering a 300 AAC Blackout barrel for it eventually.

And while I currently use either a CAA Side Saddle or just a foam covered pistol tube, I'll also be getting the SB15 Sig Brace (Choke em if they can't take a f@#k. Federal ATF approval is good enough for me!)

Still on the fence about the SB15. I agree that the ATF letter spells it out clearly but I don't trust the CA DOJ. Can't afford to be the test case if they decide to haul me in because they are ignorant.

I love my AK pistol and it's ballistics. No stupid buffer tube and it never fails or jams.

A gun shop here in San Diego (DAS) is selling the pistols with the brace attached to non leo.

Glad I'm not the only one that feels this way. I shot my friends LWRC pistol that he bought from Riflegear and hated it. Just because its "as close to an SBR" doesn't mean a thing to me. I'd rather run an AR with a 14.5" barrel + Pinned & Welded FH. Maybe if I shot one where I was able to get decent cheek weld, I might change my mind. But that foam tube did not work well for me at all.

I like how easy it is to build ARs and even my 7.5 hasnt jammed yet. The buffer tube will be fixed when I move out of state. You got me on the ballistics though, but thats why I have other guns haha

Buy 2 80%'ers, build a pistol and a carbine. Heck, while you're at it, pick up a third and build a 20 incher

I did buy two more 80% lowers but I have plenty of lowers and rifles in the safe. Never built an AR pistol or a 300BLK, figured I'd knock both out at once. To be perfectly honest, I'm not a big 223/5.56 fan. Love the 7.62x39 round and that is why I'm so interested in the 300BLK. Big 308 bullet, AR that will cycle super and sub sonic rounds without gas system change, takes my pre-ban AR mags (when out of state), Performs great in sub-10" barrels, whats not to love? Seems like the perfect package. Military would be stupid not to adopt it IMO.

really fun gun and very accurate. 200 yards is no problem with my 10.5". needs a 2 point sling to accurately manipulate the pistol. otherwise you will have little accuracy and will complain about the buffer tube
