I had an HK P2000sk and while it was a nice gun, I just couldn't get over that heavy double action pull. I have shoot DA/SA alot, even at gun matches. I know HK makes some nice polymer pistols, and we had the P30, HK45 and P2000, than sold them all. I think I have come realize I am not an HK fan, at least at this moment in time. I was also eyeing the sig 238, but I'm not sure about the .380 round. Budget is open, I'm not one to buy cheap firearm when one day I might have to rely on it to my safe my life.

I highly recommend the Glock 26. I don't have that particular model, but my Glock 33 (same dimensions, but 357 SIG), is one of my favorite handguns and my main carry piece.Comment

I also would opt for a G26 gen 4, the frame texture of gen 4 is a huge improvement over gen 3.
If you like Sig, check out the p239. Basically same slide width as a G26 with a bit taller grip, about 1". 7 rounds of .40 is decent and you might like the slimmer grip. New cali model (mag disconnect+fugly lci) runs about $760, may find older non-cali model for about $800.Comment
