I checked out a Sig 1911 and the first thing I noticed was that unlike the kimber, colt, and SA I could feel the trigger spring and hear it.
Is that just this Sig? Could it be it was new to the case and not dry fired by hordes of people yet while the others were more 'case veterans'?

No local store has a TRP, and I'm still a little apprehensive about ordering one online.

            Yeah ok
I'm sure they'll see one before 18 months, and I don't normally do deposits for stuff that lacks a delivery date or reasonable time frame.

The Colt is a basic GI model. The Kimber has more modern features like night sights, beavertail etc... Personally if I was going to buy a Colt it would be a GI issue

About a year ago I was at Oak Tree just window shopping after doing a little shooting. A guy comes in with a hard plastic Springfield handgun case and a rifle in a soft rifle case. I overhear him asking about consignment or if the store was willing to buy them. He listed both on gunbroker and neither sold. I being curious asked if I could see the handgun, what amazing piece of metal was in the box? A Springfield TRP. I asked how much?

He said $1000, I offered $900 and we settled on $950!

Op, my suggestion: Buy the Kimber TLE first. It is loaded with all the usable features one ccould ever want/need, trigger pull out of the box is clean, smooth, and creep free, over all quality of fitting and finish of parts is of high craftsmanship.

For your second purchase, get the Springfield TRP. Last purchase is the Colt.

I have owned all 3 brands.

Have you considered a Springfield MilSpec? It's significantly cheaper than both of those and it comes with excellent fit and finish, accuracy, and customer service.

Man that's a pretty gun. When I was first looking at the P220 I was figuring I would go with DA/SA because I like the idea of having a choice, but learning two trigger pulls might be weird.

I did for a minute but really loved the feel of the kimber and colt, I kind of forgot about the milspec. I'll check it out next time I'm in the shop but I'm pretty sure I'm set on the TLE ii right now.

                              In stainless.

I always thought I'd be a black handgun kind of guy but last couple weeks my tastes have changed.

Maybe I'll keep the black for the TRP
