It's out there. Went to the range I frequent today to test some worked up loads ... they had quite a bit of powder in stock. A little spendy, but certainly available.

For example, a 1lb bottle of Unique was $23 and they had at least a dozen, (high, but buyable. I usually get it for ~$18/lb), I bought 3lbs just to give them some business. They have 231 and others, too. Bullets are still a WAY better deal on line and so are primers if you buy enough to reduce the per-primer cost of the Hazmat fee.

Was at a store in the Sacramento area last week and hit powder-pay-dirt at decent prices. They had at least 300lbs of various stuff.

Nice deal, too bad UMC ammo sucks. Dirty, so so QC and weak, it often would fail to cycle most of my 9mm pistols. Really, most Remington ammo sucks, that has been my general experience over the past few decades.

But if you need the lowest cost above all else, good price.

They seem to have some fairly good ammo deals now and again. Too bad they do not understand that it is perfectly legal to ship to the City of Los Angeles.
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.

After spending the money on a Dillon 650 (went halves on the cost of a used one with a buddy, $700) and stocking up on reloading supplies I've calculated that the cost of 9mm for me is now just under $120 per thousand. I buy 1-2k projectiles at a time, primers by the case and 8lbs of powder at a time. 8lbs of powder will load just over 10K rounds at 5.2grs. The real savings will add up after I start loading rifle rounds. I can load them currently, but I can't fully process the brass yet.

If you are able to afford it and have a place to set up a loading station I'd suggest to anyone with the means to invest in a progressive machine. You'll end up spending the same amount of money as you do buying factory ammo, but you'll be shooting three times as much ammo.
