    Help with new SP2022

For the love of god, neither the gunshop or I can dissasemble my brand new SP2022.

I clear the weapon as instructed, pull the slide gently back until the notch lines up with the front of the slidestop/takedown pin, but then that's where it ends.

I cannot get the slidestop/takedown pin out, it is stuck like a rock.

Is it suppose to comeout by finger force, or do you have to pound it out?

They are very stiff when new. You can use something "pointy" to press it out. It will loosen up after a while.

I merely need to look at mine and it comes flying out now.

Did you take the magazine out?

It should just push out, you'll hear it pop/snap and then it slides right out.

^^^ This. I believe it might even be mentioned in the manual.

I used a flat bit of wood like a popsicle stick the first few times. Careful. My wife's opened me up the first two or three times I took it apart. Some of those parts have some sharp edges.

          Yeah the magazine is out.

The slidestop is in there like a rock. I've been pushing on it with a chopstick for 2 hours now and the only thing that's happening is the chopstick is getting chewed up.

It shouldn't be that tight, even if new. Mine came out with a good push of my thumb.

I just picked up my 2022 .40 last night, and have taken it apart about 3 times and have had no trouble getting it out.

When the notches line up, does the barrel move back and forth at all? I think you may need to try to move it to see if it frees up pin. I know when you put it back together if the barrel isn't lined up you can see that it blocks the hole for the takedown pin.

update? The pin probably got canted while pushing it out and got caught. It happened to me before with mines.

Do you have the safety on? Gotta make sure it's off first.

It's a Sig. There is no safety. If the slots are lined up properly, the pin should pop right out. Move the slide around a little while pushing. it takes some fancy fingerwork to do it all at once.
