For a $1000+ gun, Sig and HK have trash triggers. The only decent HK triggers I've shot are their match triggers or ones worked over by Bruce Gray. Sig's just have trash triggers period.

How can you mention Bruce Gray and say SiG's have trash triggers in the same post? Probably the best SA/DA trigger I've ever felt was a Bruce Gray tuned SiG. 2nd Best is an Angus Hobdell (CZ Custom) tuned CZ trigger.

As for slack in the 1911, I like a little bit of slack in them if they have a crisp vs. rolling break. Let's me stage/prep the trigger just before I break the shot. If it's a rolling break then I want no slack.

Funny how everyone is calling the 1911 a single stage trigger when I consider it a 2 stage with the minimal slack being the 1st stage. Of course when I hear single stage vs 2 stage, I usually think of AR triggers not pistol triggers. For pistols I think of single action vs double action.

Trash triggers compared to what? Could you recommend a DA/SA handgun with better trigger pull?

Yes. I went to Reed's on Friday night with my colleague and he let me try his Kimber 1911 again. The trigger is so nice that I shot better on his 1911 than my own Beretta Px4 Storm! It was a jaw dropping experience for me.

Part of this might be the result of me shooting trap for about a month with my Benelli Supersport and have not shot the Beretta Px4 Storm for a while. The Benelli shotgun has a single stage trigger just like the 1911, probably affected how well I shot.
