incorrect. you can reply to old threads, you just have to acknowledge that you know that the thread might be "dead" and do you want to resurrect it. Just check the box and continue.

It looks like refund charges are high, but I did not read the link to arf.

If I'm selling a gun, I ask for either a usps money order or a certified check from a recognized bank. I advise the buyer that once his money order is cashed or the check positively clears my bank, I'll ship the weapon.

I also advise him before he sends the cash that I need a verifiable address and a working phone number...I call and speak with him prior to shipping anything. I also request either a copy of his ffl's license, signed by the ffl, or, enough info from the ffl's license that I can verify the ffl's license via ez-check on the BATFE website.

I've never been burned, knock wood.

That said, I only buy or sell from ads on websites with strict "I'll take it" rules, as well as a review forum (NOT I-Trader, see the Fal Files or ARF for examples) where you can post your opinion about a sale and not worry about retaliatory I-Trader BS. Both websites are very swift in removing flakes, so although you have a chance of flakiness, it's nowhere near what you see here.

I haven't tried it yet but my bank has a feature called pay a person. I can send payments for things I buy or request payment for things I've sold.

Actually, I Googled quite a bit and found only a couple people who had actually used PistolPay who had anything to say.

As to the fees charged that some complain about. If its clear upfront then I just account for that in the cost of doing business and compare apples to apples.

P.S. I have an ecommerce site (not currently related to shooting) that uses a PayPal gateway, and I was considering adding some parts to my site (or a sister site) that might set off PayPal's rabid antigun censors. If I was able to find more positive first hand knowledge about PistolPay I was going to ask them if they had a gateway for integration into an e-cart. Perhaps I'll hold for another year and see if anybody else who has worked up the nerve to give them a try speaks up.

Yes, I read about the whole Code Red debacle. Wouldn't be an issue for me as I would only add parts to my site inventory as they came off the machine.

P.P.S. Google has gone further down the sellout road to blatant commercialism. I often find myself going back to the Yahoo search engine in the last year. Their brand of commercial sellout seems almost quaint and old fashioned by comparison.
