G21 would be a good option. Then buy the Lone Wolf 6" 10mm barrel for it. Would be a combination carry, .45 ACP, and awesomeness in 10mm.

      Another good idea.

The only negative to using a G21 as the starting point is if you want to load or shoot the really hot 10mm stuff, the heavier slide on the G20 helps slow things down a little over the G21 slide which is lighter (more steel milled off in production).

FWIW the G21 to 10mm conversion is a one way street, you can't use a G20 with a .45 barrel as the breech face is too narrow.

If you are a aftermarket mod junkie, go Glock. Otherwise Ruger is a fine weapon with a better price point. I have a few Rugers and love the SR series.

Wait up, .40 will run fine out of a factory G20 barrel? No conversion barrel needed?

The chamber is too shallow I'd guess. I never tried it because I don't like explosions of that sort.

Not a problem in the Glock 20 and 29 series, no conversion barrel needed.

The 40S&W case just headspaces on the extractor.

I even use 40 cases to load 10mm for plinking loads, works fine.

Glock 20. Hits harder and has less recoil from my experience. Ammo is a little more expensive but I don't mind
