    Ruger SR40 or Glock 20?

Which one would you choose? Looking for my next purchase early next year.

I like the SR series, but go G20.

Just because the 10mm rocks, and with no extra cost you can shoot 40sw as well.
    Actually I picked the G29sf

^Yes, well documented by many, but there are still many who also disagree.

Is it made for the 40sw...of course not.
Can it safely do it...I am on the yes side, I still have all 10 original fingers.

Go with the 20! It will shoot .40 just fine without any mods. I use .40s in mine when I shoot idpa. It functions flawlessly. You just need to clean the chamber good before you switch back to 10mm loads. Its just like shooting .38s out of a .357 mag.

Of those two, G20 hands down.

SR40. Great pistol from an iconic US company. I went with the SR40c myself as I like the slightly smaller size. The Rugers have far better triggers than the Glocks.

G20, but try for the SF unless you have very large hands.

I already have a G17 so I went with the SR40. It was an impulse buy but I haven't any regrets. I really like the way the SR40 feels in my hand and the way it shoots.

i love the ergonomics of the SR's, but i love the look and simplicity of Glocks.
my ideal gun would be a SR frame with a glock slide. if you have large hands, i think you should be fine with the glock. if you have smaller hands, stick with the SR40.

Glock 20, but I wouldn't give my opinion much credence as I like Glocks in general.

Gen 4 Glock 20. My favorite Glock trigger.

The G20 will give you a lot of options.

Before buying, if you can hold (ideally shoot) each of the types available it would be a good idea. The G20SF and Gen 4 G20 have the same sized grip which is smaller than a standard Gen 3 G20.

The Gen 4 comes with interchangeable back straps that allow you to customize the grip size and feel. The Gen 4 also has a different texture which I prefer. In addition, the Gen 4 has a superior RSA.

With my Gen 3 G20SF's I run a heavier recoil spring and SS guide rod to allow me to run hot 10mm loads and still not batter the frame with the slide. The stock Gen 4 RSA does this for me and also reduces felt recoil on the hot loads versus the straight heavier spring on the Gen 3 gun.

The Gen 4's are hard to find, gunbroker.com is your best bet. Finding a shop that caters to LE will likely allow you to hold a Gen 4 G21 (same exact gun except the caliber specific slide components), so you can get an idea what the Gen 4 feels like in your hand.
