N Frame grip suggestions

The Ahrends finger groove grips work great, and are reasonably priced.

The old coke bottle style look nice, but absolutely suck when using heavier recoiling loads.
You will see why folks used to shoot 'tea cup' style. The old grips make the thing want to squish downwards when shooting, doesn't matter how strong your grip is (same thing with Python wood grips).

Here's the Hogue's w/ single finger groove & grip cap.

Extremely comfortable to shoot and I don't have to worry about ruining an expensive set of grips.

I have a set of Hogues finger groove on my N-frame and they fit my large-ish hands really well.

I like Ahrends grips; I have bought several for use on my K/L and N frame guns. The original grips on my 29-3 were too big for me; the grips on current N frames seem to be much slimmer. The factory grips on my early 28-2 are just about perfect for me (except I don't like worrying about damaging them).

I am also looking for N-frame wood grips, but I am looking for a shop that can do a truly custom design. I would like actual words cut into the grip. Does anyone know of a shop anywhere than can accomplish this level of specialty and precision??

please do not purchase original S&W "Cokes" as parts. this only supports churlish, unscrupulous d-bags seeking to maximize profit. A nice pair of original "Cokes" belong on the revolver they were shipped with from S&W.
