Deseart Eagle Question/Advise/Help

I've never heard of even the toughest real life operator (SWAT, SEAL, MEU, or Delta) considering a DE or .44 Mag as a viable sidearm. There's no shame in admitting a DE in .44 Mag or .50 is too much gun for a first. Really......

Besides the issue of recoil and follow-up shots, there's always the issues of low magazine capacity and high weight. For the weight of a DE, you may as well carry an Uzi for a sidearm; you'd get better suppressive value from it anyway.

The DE was my second, or maybe my third, handgun purchase, personally... my first was a CZ-97B.

Ohsmily - FYI, "advise" means to offer advice. It's the verb form of advice. So ATOYF's grammar is correct, though his choice of first handgun may be questionable.

I am well aware of what "advise" means. While I agree that his use of both "advise" and "help" are ambiguous as to whether he meant he needed ADVICE and help or if he wanted someone to ADVISE him and help him (notice the changing meaning of "help" though it is spelled the same), I am wagering that he needed advice and help (nouns). The noun "advice" is what he meant and should have used.

And the choice of first handgun is definitely questionable.

I'd like a Dessert Eagle too. Does that come with whipped cream and chocolate sauce?

Before I sold my DE, I had the .44 kit and the .50AE barrel. The .44 kit only works well with HOT full power loads- none of the light reloaded crap- it wouldn't cycle with that. The .44 +P+ Muiwall sells worked well (and feels nearly like the .50).
In terms of recoil, it's more pleasant than a lighter .44 mag revolver, but I wouldn't recommend it as a first gun unless you already have shooting experience. Now the .357 kit, there's a good first gun. It feels like a .38 in a .357 revolver!

Pss- there are even worse choices for a 1st handgun. Any revolver with scandium in it comes to mind..

Why limit yourself to just a DE. A lone eagle .308 shot one handed with a leupold EER scope does wonders to the forehead.
