    Built in locks?

Are handguns with built in key locks exempt from law about having to show purchase of a recent purchase of a lock when taking home a purchase?

    No they aren't
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Only if that lock was DOJ approved..
The Ruger MK3 22/45 has an internal lock but they come supplied with a DOJ approved padlock in the case...\

"ROSTER OF FIREARM SAFETY DEVICES CERTIFIED FOR SALE" (Isn't it amazing (in an awe inspiringly bad way) our state has a roster of approved locks!)
As of January 1, 2002, no firearm may be sold, transferred, or manufactured within California unless that firearm is accompanied by a DOJ-approved firearms safety device (California Penal Code section 23620, et seq).
