    Just ordered a custom CZ

Just ordered up a custom CZ from Matt Mink at Automatic Accuracy in Arkansas.

The pistol will be used solely as a gun for IDPA competition in the ESP division and I had him build it up as such. I kinda went crazy in also having him put together a spares kit for me to have as well.

The gun ships with two mags but I'm also getting some spares sent as well.
Here is an outline of all the work getting done to it, parts thrown on it.

    New CZ 75B 9mm w/2 10rd magazines
CZ Custom Tactical rear sight, Dawson Precision fiber front sight
Race trigger job w/comp hammer, 13# mainspring, internal work and polishing
CZ Custom SA trigger and SA conversion
CZ Custom B series extended firing pin and reduced power firing pin spring
    CZ Custom 10# recoil spring
Reliability package - cut slide stop, polish ramp, breechface, cartridge rail
CZ Custom Short Aluminum grips and CZ Custom Aluminum magwell, fitted and blended to mag opening
    85 Combat extended mag release
CZ Custom stainless flat mag brake
    Shipped to FFL

    (4) SP-01 mag tube kits, with +10% springs, flat basepads

    Spare parts kit:

    Extended firing pin
    Reduced power firing pin spring
    Trigger return spring
    13# mainspring
    10# recoil spring
    75B slide stop w/clearance cut
    9mm extractor
    Extractor spring
    (4) +10% mag springs
Competition is where you find out you're slow, can't see well, are not accurate, have poor gun handling, can't visualize, have equipment that doesn't work and either accept it OR DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Nice! You're stoked. I'm teetering on the edge of getting a custom CZ, too, but from Angus.

Remember to update this thread with pix when she comes in!

Nice! I have a SP-01 in jail, which I'm DROSing next week. I wonder how bad the trigger is since people always seem to do a trigger job. It's going to be my last 9mm so upgrading might be an option even though it's a bit pricey.

Before you send it out to get the trigger upgraded, try just changing out the main spring from the stock one to a 15lb one. If you've got a screwdriver, a punch, and a solid work surface, it will take you about 5 mins to change it out. You can get a 15# main spring from Cajun Gun Works for $7.

I think I'll break in the trigger first before deciding. I'm also afraid if I try any modifications on my own, that I'll mess it up since there's so many tiny parts.

oh i'll definitely post pics and a range report when this baby gets in my hands. expect a thread resurrection in about 3 weeks.

if it wasnt for a competition class with rules i was worried about, it woulda just been an sp-01. so i hope this all works out for the best!

anyone else here with a worked over 75?

I just jailed a 75B. I dont know whether these current pistols have the mag brake installed or not - if they do I will install the "drop free" brake from the cz custom shop so my mags will drop free when released. I haven't shot it yet so I don't know about the trigger......we shall see. Sights seem adequate to me, however I would like a pic of your sight picture when you get your gun if that is possible.....see what kind of a difference some new sights might make.

I plan making this my go-to full size carry gun, so I am not so interested in changing out recoil springs or otherwise tailoring the gun to a specific load. Mostly interested in reliability and accuracy mods.

Oh and I am also intrigued by the SA conversion kit. Would like to know how that turns out.

The smallest part when changing out the hammer spring is probably the lanyard plug or the grip screws. So, if you can unscrew and remove the grips of your gun, changing out the hammer spring is probably a 2 min operation after that. The main reason I suggested this is that CZs straight from the factory are generally over sprung (I believe it's a 20lb main spring from the factory).
