    Desert Eagle 50ae

I am aware that purchasing a new Des Eag 50ae is illegal and private party purchase is probably my only option. Can anyone help??

Not a big deal, you buy the Desert Eagle first then you buy the 50AE upgrade kit. When I bought mine the kit and the gun were sitting right next to each other.

I see. Well thank you guys. If I may, what does this kit include? Will it also include a new slide stating 50ae on it?

All the kit is, a new barrel and magazine.

          Very easy to switch.
Oh and yes it says 50 AE on it.

Keep an eye out for them in the Private Firearms Sales section. They tend to show up quite often. That's how I was able to get one.

Try the internet, MidwayUSA. There are others and Magmun Research.

So, what you are saying is buy a new DE 44, and a new conversion kit, and you can have a new DE 50? And I can get both at a CA FFL/dealer? Or do I have to go through Magnum Research and/or Brownells, etc.?

Yes, pretty much. You buy the DE .44, you then purchase the .50AE conversion barrel elswhere...it can be purchased wherever available as it is not a firearm.

Turner's will frequently have some, but it's pricy. I get most of mine from gun shows; Miwall is frequently down to $17/box.

However, since it shares bullets with 50 Beowulf, I'm gonna get around to reloading it soon... supposedly you can even use the same dies on Beowulf as 50AE since they're both straight-walled cartridges.

Pretty sure no dealer is going to STOCK the barrel, but they should all be able to order 'em. Expect it to run more than just ordering through Magnum Research, though.

In order to go from Mark XIX 44 mag to 50 AE. You would need 50AE barrel and 50AE magazine. Rest stays same.

Many times Magnum Research website has Cyber special which includes free magazine with barrel purchase.

                              There is DE forum

Most common upgrae to DE is Hogue one piece grip.
