History Of Guns
I bought my Colt 1911 45CP in stainless steel because it will not rust. I bought my Colt 1911 45ACP because a childhood friend had an old one and used it for self defense and he was a "1911 man". He would raise his arm and shoot and we would see dust kick up on yon hill after a few seconds. And the old song "Spoonful". "Could be a spoonful of water, taken from the desert sand, could be a spoonful of a 45 save you from another man". And that other song Big Boy Pete with the lyrics, "Pete said uh looka here buddy, before I tan your hide, I got a 45 to keep me alive and 7 bullets on my side". I knew a sheriff named Messerschmitt who carried a 1911 as a duty weapon. The U.S. armed forces used it for lo these many years. But the 1911 jams and has a low magazine capacity. So I stored my 1911 and bought a Beretta 92. I don't like the slide articulating with an exposed barrel. (It's a little late for my sudden dislike). I bought a S&W .38 stainless steel 5 shot due to its capacity while being small. I bought a Benelli due to the tv shows. I decided to sell them all at a tidy profit and buy a Glock Model 19 from the fourth generation. But now I'm informed that Dr. Glock has allowed his creation to slip in quality. The State of California will not allow me to buy one. I will sell the aforementioned thunder sticks but not before buying ONE Ruger Mk3 22 caliber, uh, gun. Then I will start blogging on how the 22 is all that you need for self defense much the same way the 45ACPers and the 9mmers continue to argue to this day. Then I will get a life.
