Was afraid of that, you will feel significant snap in the recoil, possibly to a point you will not like shooting it.. the Sig P238 with delayed blow back cushions the harsh recoil to manageable level.. personally I never did like the old fixed barrel designs like the Walther PPK, Makarov, bersa designs.

As stated in my OP, this ain't my first time out with the Bersa Thunder series. I actually have quite a bit of prior experience with blowback 380 pistols, between my two Thunder 380s my GF's Thunder 380CC and my old Walther PPK and PPK/S. Compared to a PPK, the recoil of a Bersa Thunder 380 is nothing.

Hey, there are plenty of people on Calguns that swear that 380 is the perfect round for a gunfight

While I agree it is a silly name to give a gun like this, I find it more aesthetically pleasing than the standard Thunder 380 model.

Delayed blowback meaning the pistol is designed like most full size pistol in that barrel is not connected to the frame, then the trigger is pulled, as the slide goes back due to recoil, the barrel unlocks and disconnect from the slide, tilting down word, this design helps expel and distribute recoil. The designed originated in the 1911.

Please feel free to actually look up the phrase "delayed blowback pistol". What you just described (1911) is a locked-breech design.

To my knowledge delayed-blowback pistols are highly uncommon. The only two I can name off hand are the HK P9 which uses a roller-delayed blowback design and the HK P7 which uses a gas delayed blowback system.

Anyhow, if you get the chance to hit a gunshow, take a 2nd look at the old guys with the even older used books for sale. The inter-webb is cool, but 99% or more of the gun stuff information on the compooter originated from those old-time books. That is my story and I'm sticking to it.

Gun arrived yesterday. Overall I'm honestly not that impressed. The trigger is extremely rough through the pull and stacks heavily before the break in DA, the single action pull is entirely too heavy. The trigger feels wider than the triggers on my old Bersa pistols, but without having them side by side that is just an assumption.

Fit and finish is decent, didn't really notice any tooling marks inside the slide or frame. The sights are set up like a Glock, white dot front/square outline rear.
Feels decent in my hands, but I can't get past the poor quality of the trigger (yes it is a "cheaper" gun but the three I have shoot in the past were much smoother and lighter). I will give it 200 rounds + 300 dry firing before the first range trip to start smoothing out, otherwise it will be off to backpage and I'll replace it with a Walther PPK/S or possibly a PK380.

I hand a Grendel P-10. Hated it. Sold it after the second time to the range with it.

I'm glad yours was better then mine.

It is kind of weird to reload, but it always goes bang

That was my biggest issue with mine. The M-16 stripper clips worked sometimes and try to load one at a time was a PITA.
