          Glocks??? At Chabot???

So, I departed the residence around 1:30 this afternoon. Had my Springfield Armory 1911 and the wife brought her Sig SP2022. Went to Chabot.

Hit up the 10 yard targets at Lanes 61 and 62.

Put a handful of mags downrange and was headed back to the truck to get some of those 'shoot n see' targets. On my way to the truck, I ran into a couple of guys taking a smoke break and we chatted a bit. Asked me what I was shooting..."1911". I asked them and they said "1911...Is there anything else???" LOL!!! It must've been some of the guys on this forum who headed over to show them Glocksters up! Nice group of guys too!

Anyways, I was going to post while I was at the range, but there was too much excitement going on!

          Happy shooting and be safe!

1911s for show. Glocks for go.

On the other hand, 1911 shooters are fantastic with that tap-rack-bang procedure.

Glocks... Its because the ignorant recognize that brand the most. There is other credible options with the same price range.

Me, a hater? Maybe. But I have shot glocks before and EHHH, whatever, I dont see what is so great. Reliability? Its a mechanical device capable of errors, just like a SW, Ruger, or Karh could be. A 1911 or 357 magnum feels the best, in my opinion.

Just to be fair, I think the XD guns are not so great either. However, a Sig... thats a good one to me.

I remember one day three of my buddies and I showed up for a casual "steel challenge" all using our "pet pistols" there was a Sig 239, Glock 19, CZ 75, and my Beretta PX4. The course was simple: 16 steel targets around 10 yrds out with a 10 yrd run between stations. We all ran it three times, and guess what the results were?
239: times were slower due to more reloads
75: failed to lock back on empty slowed nhis times
Glock: front sight loosened during first run switched to back up XD40
PX4: zero issues and finished with a 23 second time.

Glock has won, hands down, the "name recognition war" if ever there was one. For a large portion of the uninformed non-gun-owning populace, all guns are Glocks. "Most popular" does not autmoatically equal "one of the best" though.

Personally, I don't own any and never will, until or unless they make one that feels good in my hand. Doesn't mean they aren't good guns, they just aren't good for me.
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.

I am really partial still to my P95. It works well and has never let me down. No issues.

They would all be shooting CZs if they were easily available to buy.

One of the least interesting observations one could have made at a range...

                                Thread fail.
