I think that was it. I've dealt with a lot of companies in the 1911 business. ACW will get my cash from now on period. The attention to detail was superb. I wasn't treated like a "customer", more like a friend (if I can put it that way). I felt comfortable talking with Rob and he carefully explained details. Communication was unbelievable, I don't think they sleep. Only downside is the work that they are putting out will surely back log them sooner than later.

Just curious, what made you decide on what mods to do to your gun? Not the shop, but the actual mods. What were you trying to accomplish that the stock couldn't? I am not against mods, just want to hear your thought process to get some inspiration.

The only thing better than Rob Schauland's work is his Customer Service, which is the best I've experienced, period.

True story:

I had some work done at SACS, which among other things, included adding serrations to the top of a slide. When I got the pistol back, off to Rob at Alchemy it went for a few more odds and ends. When Rob got the pistol, he noticed that slide was missing a serration, so he took it upon himself to physically take the pistol to SACS, had them add the serration, and picked the pistol up a week later.

Just curious, what made you decide on what mods to do to your gun? Not the shop, but the actual mods. What were you trying to accomplish that the stock couldn't? I am not against mods, just want to hear your thought process to get some inspiration.

Also, how do you like it?

The gun ran okay for the amount of rounds through it, except for a few preference items. The ejector was damaging cases as I reloaded aggressively. I filed it back, however as it became older the ejection patterns became erratic (hence why the extractor was changed too, besides it was clocking pretty good at this point). From a few courses and experience EGW makes a very good line of products. Some features are cosmetic, I filed down the grip safety so the spur hammer didn't look too odd.



From the first photos you'd never be able to tell the grip safety is modified and square rather than round. I shortened it up but from the side pics it look normal.

I like the wide purchase area the 10-8 slide stop offers. The Harrison smooth face triggers are awesome, especially for those extended days on the range. So I tried to balance what functioned and appealed to my taste in looks.

Originally gun prior to the work- I love a beat up pistol and it won't be long till these images will be back.

I don't have any personal experience with a Harrison slide stop. His parts are top notch. I have a pistol worked by Harrison and its awesome.

The purchase area on the Harrison slide stop looks to be just as good as the 10-8 slide stop.

No, Baer uses good components.
Spur hammer- I prefer the classic look. This rare 10-8 hammer fit that bill perfectly.
