I like mine, full size with a grip cut to compact for carry. Add a full size mag with the grip extender anytime for a full size grip.

Any updates on the Optics being used on your M&P's?

I was gonna create a new thread but this was basically what I was gonna start so I figured I wold bump this.

I'm deciding between the Burris FastFire III or the Leupold DeltaPoint right now ... just not thinking the DP will have anything more that constitutes the extra $150+ price tag.

Hey LBDamned hwo is your FFIII working out for you on your M&P?

Any updates on what guys are using here?

I know many say RMR, but now way I will spend that much ... my MAX (and really won't got hat high in all reality) is $350-400.
So thats why I am really considering the FastFireIII

Any updates here, anyone using some good value optics on their M&P's?

I just put my M&P9 CORE in jail so I'm doing some research on optics now.

Thanks guys and I look forward to your thoughts and suggestions!

I use an RMR. It's durable and foolproof (so far). I've ran the gun several times in some local matches and during one pistol class. Slide work by Mark Housel.

while I haven't done any competitive shooting with it, I have used it at the range a few times... has held up very well... holds zero, and sight acquisition isn't as awkward as I though it may be...

I'm in the process of lightweight AR build and ordered another FFIII for that... I was actually very torn between the FFIII and Leupold DeltaPoint - but like you, I ultimately decided the added cost wasn't worth it and since the FF has held up under conditions of the M&P 40, I figured it would be fine on an AR.

I got the second FFIII from Overstock for $171.78 shipped (with 15% off coupon)... if you get on their mailing list, they send you coupons often... usually 10 or 12%, but every now & then 15%... they have the DeltaPoint in stock too.

hope that helps... and I hope you enjoy your choice

Awesome Info brother! Glad to hear it is holding up perfect on your M&P40 (and that has an even more snappy kick and slide then the 9 I was told) and has held zero .... It will work perfect on your AR no doubt.

Thanks for the info on Overstock ... I will be sure to check them out and sign up for the coupons and maybe I'll luck out ... for $171 bucks thats almost a no brainer for sure for me. I have an account there and have purchased things before for my wife but do not get emails .. I think maybe at some point I stopped I unsubscribed to them ... gonna have to turn those back on.

No doubt it will be fine on your AR if it does good on the M&P Slide. This would be 100% my choice for a reflex on my M&P15 AR but I bought the Primary Arms 4X Prism Scope already and PA has a descent 5 MOA Reflex sight that mounts perfect on the picatinny rail on my scope so I will be going that route for my AR (check em out, PA makes quality stuff and their reflex is only $90).

Thanks again for the reply ... I will get back on that list to see if I can get a coupon and if I can get it under 200 that's a done deal for me I think.

I started out with the Deltapoint, but then got a deal on a Trijicon RMR. I prefer the RMR (actually debating whether to sell the Deltapoint or keep it).

Both optics work fine, easy to zero, and stay accurate.

Wow brothers, those look awesome! I was thinking about putting one on my Glock 20 or my Glock 21.

                    Still running mini holos.
Finally bought a Trijicon RMR 06 series. Small dot with adjustable brightness controls. Still have to remove sight to replace battery. Not huge, but inconveiant.
Leupold will have the Deltapoint 2s out any time. Adjustable brightness control, along with top loading battery.
I like a fully sealed mini holo.
Other than the Delta getting wet, I have had no issues with running the 3 different brands I have.
This continues to pay rewards for accuracy and enjoyment unmatched with traditional open sights. I do absolutely find I still can shoot opens well. No problem with running opens after heavy use of a holo.
Yes, they are slower to pick up the dot on draw with extension. But you easily get used to it.

Figured I would add these here to see how the FFIII looks on an M&P CORE

Very nice I think ... very flush and still able to somewhat co-witness the irons in the bottom 6 O'clock optic area if need be.

For the price a Very Viable Option I think for the most part

thread revival. how's everything holding up for everyone?

also it seems like now that the core has been out for a bit people are starting to experience shifts in zeros with the mounting system/method at fault. any comments?

Shifts in zeros with the core mounting systems?

I haven't seen or read anything like that.

Mine is all done and ready to shoot but I have not yet so I can't comment with an update.

                          Here is mine .....

                            .

Added the Burris FastFire III to the M&P C.O.R.E Compatible Optic List to represent the correct plate and screws needed to easily install.

Will work the same with a FFII as well from what I gather.

S&W never added it to the "compatible" list not that it doesn't fit like a glove with that plate and screw combo but it does not perfectly co-witness so they never saw it as being a reflex do add to the list because of that one feature that they talk about and the FF does not do is all.
I have no need for the co-witness capability (why would I want to use the irons through the glass at the range ... I can see a need for it in competition but not a casual range shooter like myself).
