Glock RTF 2

If you can find one buy it!
I've got one in a 17. I wouldn't trade it for the world. You can definitely feel the added grip. For my hands it's perfect and I love it. I did have a ex who had softer hands who did use to get some rash on her palm after about 100 to 150 rounds. I my self having tougher hands have never had an issue. She still loved to shoot it. Just after out trip she would have rosy palms. Other than that its a great hand gun. Actually what the Gen4 grip was designed from was the RTFs.
I would post some porn of mine but as you can see from my sig I've exceeded my bandwidthComment

RTF frames are no longer made by Glock. I saw one pop up in the marketplace, as a ppt. Was offerred at $650. Seller stated that he was the second owner, and had fired thousands of rounds. Unknown round count by original owner. Had ameriglo sights and 3.5# rocket trigger.
All that said, he'll likely get his asking price for it.
I don't know why Glock discontinued the RTF frame. I would think that, as popular as it is, they would have considered more seriously evolving away from their 'standard' texture, in favor of this.
To the poster that said its a bit rough on the inside of the elbows, when carried in a high holster...I can see that. I usually carry mine in a kydex (free plug for www.spetzgear.com...only holster for me) holster that fits snug against my side, and it does rub a bit. But the much improved grip is a no-brainer tradeoff for me.
Good luck finding an RTF, to cg'ers on the hunt. They are elusive...like Bigfoot. All know they exist. Sometime pictures and stories emerge. But few have firsthand experiences.

Glock developed the RTF2 in response to various law enforcement agencies request for a more aggressive frame texture for wet/humid environments.
Glock discontinued the RTF2 for civilian sale, but still offers the RTF2 for Gen 3 frames for Gov/Mil/LE agency orders (5,000+ units).
Frame textures for Glock generations:
Gen 1 = non-RTF
Gen 2 = RTF
Gen 3 = RTF or RTF2
Gen 4 = RTF3sigpic

Yes I like the RTF2's, I can get a very positive grip with that rough texture.
I have two RTF2's, first I bought the 22, I liked it some much I picked up a 17. If I had a chance to buy a 19 RTF2 I'd move on it quick. I prefer the texture on the RTF2 over the standard Gen3 but not the slide serrations. Looks wise I don't mind the crescent moon shape serrations, but they're smooth, not good if you only have one hand to rack the slide against something. Yeah yeah you can use the rear sight whatever. In reality most of us will never be in a situation like that anyway, most will just be a range gun, HD gun or safe queen. It's something to think about though.Comment
