Glock...I thought I would never do it...

I'll never understand why people consider buying a Glock the same as, I dunno, committing some horrible crime or something. It's a fricken consumer product, buy it or don't, there are no moral implications!==================

Brand loyalty. Having too much of your ego invested in what you're familiar with or what you deem "better".
I love both though (steel & polymer).... I'm just saying.
Reminds me of something my mom used to tell me when I was younger and wouldn't eat my vegetables.... I'd be like, "I hate vegetables".
And she'd be like "How do you hate them if you never even eat them?"Comment

Not a Glock fanboy as I prefer to shoot my CZ over my Glock but when the inevitable conversation comes up about buying a first gun, I always recommend a Glock.
I put around 1,500 rounds through mine before the first cleaning. The spent cases would literally come out entirely black because the chamber was so dirty. Never had a problem feeding, extracting, or firing. Took all of 15 minutes to clean and it still looked brand spanking new.
I see a lot of posts about grip angle and all kinds of other stuff bashing the Glock but to me that just means you have to train more. My only real complaint about a Glock is that I wish it had a take down lever that didn't involve pulling the trigger. I always warn first time gun owners about that. Always make sure the gun is unloaded.sigpicComment

It's because I have never been able to shoot them well. If you can't hit your target, whats the point of relying on one to save your life.
I like the legendary reliability of them which is why I bought one for my bedside gun.
It's just a balance between accuracy and reliability and I have never shot Glocks well enough to feel comfortable with buying one which is why I said "I thought I would never do it."
Plus its a piece of tupperware...who buys a gun made out of plastic anyway?

Hmmm... I don't pull the trigger when field stripping my Glock. I just pull down the little take diwn things while the slide is a few inches racked. And then I pull the slide off. Maybe I am doing it wrong but it works like a charm. Not that I don't check the chamber before doing it. corrected it for ya. people will bash on anything to rationalize THEIR purchases and choices. typical conversations can go like this:
"you bought a...
glock? theyre uncomfortable/ugly/inaccurate/etc..."
kimber? theyre unreliable/got MIM parts/bad warranty/etc..."
XD? theyre a glock copy/not american made/bad trigger/etc..."
the list goes on and on and on. if you shoot well with it, and its reliable, i say be responsible and enjoy your firearm.Comment

Weird - I don't think it's supposed to work without pulling the trigger but can't say I've ever tried.Hmmm... I don't pull the trigger when field stripping my Glock. I can't field strip my 19 without pulling the trigger. It says in the manual that the trigger must be in the rear postion to remove the slide.Hmmm... Night sights are on the way...
Regarding the grip reduction...ya...I might look into that. I like that the Gen 4 comes in a SF configuration...I probably wouldn't buy a Glock without it because the grip has been my biggest complaint in the past. I will likely be leaving the backstraps off because I have small hands.Comment
