See my previous post for that answer. I'm one dude with experience with 3 of their guns. Why does what I say matter so much to you? I, ME, THIS DUDE (pointing to myself) would never buy one again. Sooooo, why do you care about that so much? How many do I need to own and have malfunction until I can say I don't like them? Lemme know.

Because I have one on the way and want to know the details. I want to know what is wrong with them, and your confrontational attitude got my attention.See my previous post for that answer. These threads always turn into Kimber bashing I believe about .01% of the trolls on here. I have been running my Custom II for over two years in IDPA and haven't had a single malfunction so....I say people should buy what they like the way manufacturing is 99% of firearms are gonna runs like a champ. There are plenty of people that own Kimbers on here that love em. There are also people here that run crappy mags and have issues. We've seen this in thread after thread after thread. If ya don't like em /shrug buy something else no one really cares lol."Men sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

Oh hell
Every major manufacturer puts a lemon out now and then. Hard luck for the guy who dropped $1000 but Kimber could not stay in business making crappy guns all the time.
I have a variety of 1911's (including 2 Kimbers) and they all have needed some sort of tweak to get them to where I liked them but once tweaked, they have all been keepers
OP IMHO go with the Rock Island Tactical It is a well made and reliable 1911 at a great price ($579 around here) and their customer service is fantastic.
Got a ton of dough to spend? Then head for the top Get A Wilson (My preference) or a Baer/Nighthawk/Guncrafter/Ed Brown/ DW) All of the top end makers put out fantastic 1911s and if you get bitten hard by the 1911 bug, you will eventually own one of these super 1911s. It took me 28 years to get from my 1st 1911, a Colt Series 70, to my Wilson CQB. And yes, I still have that Colt
Good luck with whatever you choose.sigpicNRA Benefactor MemberComment

Love my Kimber TLE, I've put 2500+ rounds through her, no problem. Ran 100 rds of JHP first time today, no problem.
Around the 2000+ Round count, I replaced the Mainspring housing to a Wilson Combat 30x20 which I fitted myself. Checkering is awesome and is uniform with my front strap. Also the added weight, to me made the platform balance really out well. I've done a bunch of other things to her, replaced a few MIM parts but I am too lazy to go into detail. =)
I can't hate on a 1911, I want them all. I have a Colt series 70s in jail/waiting on SSE, and already looking at a Springfield RO to send to SA Customs.Comment
