    I want a glock

So I finally decided to buy a glock, seeing as my wife has laid claim to my xd! Now I'm just not sure which of these 3 models 17, 19 or 21sf. So many choices... Any input on what you guys like or don't like about your glocks would be great.

leaning more toward the 9mm models since I have a 1911 but then again my or should I say my wife's xd is a 9mm already.

Ive owned and shot both the 17 and 19. I like my 17 for the size. It's a little less snappy than the 19 also.

I have owned a 17and 19 for a long time, and just picked up a 21SF the other day. Both the 17 and 19 are great guns. I use the 19 for CCW sometimes. I have yet to shoot my 21, but have shot others and it's also a great shooting gun. Decide if you want a 9mm or .45, then if you want a compact or full size. That should narrow it down for you.

I love my 19, but the 21sf takes the cake for me. I like .45 over 9mm, but also the felt recoil on the 21, for my hands/wrists, is way smoother than any other .45 I have shot. Close second is my 30sf.

          I'd get the 21SF. I'm a 45 fan.

I have a G19 and love it. Was very accurate right off the bat. I usually shoot as well or better with it than my Springfield Trophy Match. It just feels right in my hand, especially for a compact.

I have a 17 and 21SF, both Gen 3. If I were to choose between the two, which I hope it's just for discussion purposes, I would pick the 17. I don't want to go into a debate on which caliber is better, etc., but I believe my 17 is adequate to get the job done and be a target gun, too.

It is less bulky so that's a plus, and I tend to gravitate towards "traditional" firearms. Well, with Glocks, that's the 17!

You can't go wrong with a 21sf either. That's actually my HD gun. The 17 is designated as my wife's HD gun.

              Good luck!

Not a fan of the G22 or G23. Very rough. Since you are not buying a .40 you should be fine. I personally like the G19. Not too big and not too small.

May no suggest checking mouth the M&P. Much nicer ergonomics and smooth to shoot.

I used to love my glock 19 but not anymore because it's the least accurate pistol out of my other pistols but the prices of my other pistols cost more than my Glock so not really an apple to apple comparison except to my Sig 228. The price, accuracy, and weight still makes it a great & no regret compact gun though. If I didn't have other pistols, I would probably appreciate it more than I do now.

I'd go with the G19 considering (knock on wood) there is a possibility that with guns in the house, both you and your wife could be a situation to have to use either or. With this in mind, the G19 is obviously the mid size and would be something that both of you could handle without problem, regardless of hand size...And it's a manageable man-stopping caliber with proper shot placement...

If you already have a 1911 and a XD I would suggest you broaden your choices to guns that can fill other roles.
So I would suggest GLOCKs practical longslide the G34 (9mm)
                        Or the subcompact G30 (45ACP)

Go out and shoot them all and see what you like the best.

Mc Pistol - can't beat a Glock 19, pretty much will do it all.

The grip diameter on the 17 and the 19 is identical. The spacing of the finger grooves on the third generation of both is identical. The only difference is that the grip on the 19 is a bit shorter, so that someone with large hands may find that they cannot keep all four fingers on the grip. If a small stature shooter can hold a 19 comfortably, then that same person should be able to hold the 17 with the same identical grip. The only time it would be an issue is if the shooter uses the support hand cup grip instead of the standard two handed wrap around grip.

An added benefit to the 17 is that it will have slightly less felt recoil because it is a fraction heavier, and slightly less muzzle flash because the barrel is a bit longer.

Both are first rate for home defense, while the 17 may be a bit better on the range, due to the longer sight radius.

If it is going to be both a home defense and range gun, take a serious look at the 34. All the benefits of the 17 with a longer sight picture which will help with both recoil and muzzle flash.
