    Steyr M9 and variants

Just curious, can the Steyr M9 and its variants be SSE'd? One of many I didn't get around to acquiring before I moved.

Fmunk. It can and has been done. Just not a big market for them. I want one too. I found a source for threaded m9 bbls which would make it easier for the gunsmith to make the lengthened bbl. required for SSE. I kinda lost interest in pursuing it. Moving in a couple years so figured ill just wait and buy it in free state later. Lmk if you find someone who's doing them and I might jump on one.

Most any gun can be. It's just a matter of how much you're willing to pay for it.

The more of a demand the lower the cost to convert because the dealer can recover his cost over several pistols. If you're the only one that wants a certain gun you will wind up paying for all the cost of the conversion parts.
        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

My experience.... bought a Steyr M9A1 from Turners 7 years ago for my wife, because of the small grip.... it was a jam-o-matic for us... never had a decent range experience with it, so sold it.

Too bad, but trouble with one doesn't prove anything about the whole lot. One bad Glock doesn't make all Glocks bad.

Cost isn't really an issue. If I want something I'll save and budget accordingly. Besides, this is firearms we are talking about. Nothing about this hobby of ours is cheap; a fact that is even more true in this state because of the restrictions and lack of supply. Gotta pay to play; as simple as that.

The M9 family is different and was recommended long ago by numerous people and friends before I ever bought my first firearm. I just never got around to owning one so it's kind of a bucket list thing for me right now. Would like to own one to see what it's all about.

True... but on a rare pistol that does not have a huge loyal following behind it to actually reassure me that they "are" indeed realizable... I almost felt like the guinna pig.
