now I just have to find a G27 in stock around valley springs. I am moving back to the hometown again. So happy I will be out of the bay by the end of the month. I get a lot of dirty looks while im in my F250 crew cab flatbed that sounds like a jet engine.

Many officers I work with like to carry off duty :
Sig P239 9mm or .40
Glock 26/27
Older S&W 3914/3913 ( MY FAVORITE!!!)Comment

What type of trigger do you like? If you like long double action style triggers, go for a LC9, Kahr or SIG DAK. Maybe even a revolver. If you prefer short triggers you should go for a Glock, M&P or XD. There are more out there that fit into those categories but you want a pistol that you are comfortable shooting. Trigger feel is just as important as the way it feels in your hand, its gotta be comfy to hold and to use. Go to your LGS - hold them all, dry fire them all. Happy shooting meow.Comment

read up about shot placement.Isn't round size something people with a CCW consider. I see a kit of 9mm on the list, but when tour limited to round count, isn't that border line affective?
Don't rake me wrong, I'm not saying the 9mm isn't affective to a normal person, and I understand that follow up shots are more efficient, but what about the person on drugs who is running around naked?Comment

Something about wheel guns: Reading about older persons having real trouble pulling back the slide on a semi. I'm not there yet, but I can relate; once a bruised wrist made me realize it takes strength and an uninjured hand.
One day you'll be old and dried up too...whad up?
I like the S&W snub nose .38.Comment

I was gonna suggest an M&P because I like the ergonomics. But you said you held one and wasn't impressed. You won't go wrong with a Glock, especially if you already love the feel of it. Look into the 26 or 27 depending on what caliber you want. I've had a G27 for 16 years (carried it now and then). These days I've been leaning towards the 9mm for the couple of extra rounds.Comment
