    Turner's consignment handguns...

Does anybody know if buying a consignment handgun at Turner's is considered a Private Party Transfer? If so it wouldn't limit me to one handgun every 30 days. The employees I've talked to so far don't seem to know.

Consignment firearms are to be done private party transfer. Not limited to 1 per 30. Buy as many as you can afford.

PPT needs both the seller and buyer present together to do the transaction. I would say consignment falls uder 1 every 30 days.

It depends on which Turners! In the city of LA, you can only DROS one handgun every 30 days and this includes PPTs! It's a city ordinance.

Only if you plan on doing the transfer there, its usually $35.

My last consignment purchase from Turners was the same. I was told by the Norwalk store that consignment fell under the 1 every 30 day rule.

Hawk1 states it's treated as PPT for consignments.

                  Hmm...

this is correct. the turners on reseda and vanowen for instance falls under the los angeles ordinance. 1 handgun (new, used, consignment, ppt) per 30 days only. try any others after the first dros and itll bounce back

outside of l.a. county, it is 1 new handgun and any number of new, used, and consignment as far as i know.

which is why i hate drossing anything in l.a.

The Turner's in Orange states the same thing, consignment falls under 1 every 30 days.

Don't you also have to pay state tax on consignment guns, or am I mistaken?

I would recommend being cautious. I bought a consignment piece at the Signal Hill Turners. They apparently ran the DROS as a new pistol purchase and I was denied for violating the one a month law. They called me and explained what happened. It freaked me out and was very inconvienent. Had to go throught the whole process again, but I did get the pistol.

Now, if I ever purchase a consignment piece from Turners, I stress repeatedly that this is a PPT.
