So my few months old g 19 had the trigger pin start to walk out of the frame today after about 50 rounds. I had a tent stake mallet handy so I smacked it back in. Is this something I should worry about ?

Glock trigger pin walk?
sent from the depths of my subconsciousTags: None -
Just replace the pin. Extremely cheap $1 or $2. Probably just worn out a bit if its a old gun.Its not paranoid.....its prepared.

I would love to know also, mine did it at the range a few weeks back I just pushed it back in. I did notice I had some excessive lube around the pin so I thought that might be why. Not sure the issue though.sigpic

If it happens again, replace the trigger pin.
The trigger pin shouldn't walk out considering the slide stop lever keeps it in place (and you'll often find it very difficult to remove the trigger pin without manipulating the slide stop while exerting pressure on the pin).
Get a Glock armorers tool when you order the pin(s). Even if you have a good set of punches, the armorer tool is more handy to carry around in a range bag.

Thanks for your helpful input on the topic.
Regardless, either just replace the pin or send it back to Glock and wait. Its not paranoid.....its prepared.

The slide stop holds it in. If it is walking out, either the stop is not engauged in the pins slot, or the pin or stop is damaged. To install it properly, push the oin in almost all the way, then you need to pull reward on the slide stop as you apply pressure to the pin and slowly push it in. When the slot gets to the slide stop, you will feel it click into place.Comment

You used a mallet?
I'm just going to put this out there, but there is literally no part on a Glock that requires a mallet.
The trigger pin has notches in it that get caught by the slide stop, preventing the pin from walking. This is why you usually have to play with the slide stop a bit so you can remove the trigger pin. If you use a mallet to knock the pin back in, you're likely to break your slide stop in the process.Comment

Call Glock. Why pay for the pin when I bet they'd send you one.
There is a Glock kit that comes with a bunch of pieces as a backup emergency kit.
